COVID-19 has been declared as a “global pandemic” by the World Health Organization. Mankind has not been prepared for a situation like this in at least 100 years (considering the last pandemic of such magnitude was the Spanish flu that outbroke in 1918). Due to mass contagion, healthcare systems around the world are choking. In order to prevent healthcare sector’s collapse, experts around the world have recommended “social distancing”. This means that entire cities, not just few areas, have to undergo stringent lockdowns.

With the increase of usage of Information Technology, there is a dire need to have foolproof security in this regard.

As KP Govt. continues to digitize the departments, the data needs to be protected from any malicious activists.  

KP IT board established KP Cyber Emergency Response Center in 2018 to ensure the security of provincial and national digital assets. KP CERC conducts different workshops and training sessions for Govt employees to help secure the digital surface of Pakistan.

Gender inclusive co-working spaces (Durshals) have been developed by KPITB, to ensure that they remain inclusive spaces for women, and thrive as community centers. Specifically, it will involve providing incubation opportunity to aspiring women entrepreneurs in the field of ICT and hiring of staff to perform outreach activities. The staff will also act as facility and community managers and serve as program liaison and as a resource for female digital workers in the community.

Social entrepreneurs from all over KP assembled for Bootcamp

All the startups had to pass through a 5-day rigorous training that was carefully designed to equip them for their entrepreneurial journey; from inception to fruition

45% of the participants were women Entrepreneurs. Bootcamp will become a model for others provinces on how to mobilize entrepreneurs and innovators to solve social problems, while also creating job opportunities for our youth

Preliminary Demand Form for Investment in Pakistan Digital City, Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has planned to establish the first Digital City of Pakistan. The site of the Digital City is located at Haripur behind Margala Hills Islamabad. The site is not only one of the most scenic of locations, it also has close proximity to the Islamabad capital territory and to the new International Airport Islamabad.

Train human resource by providing trainings, workshops, and certifications in Cyber Security. Help build Capacity of Government departments and establish Pakistan first public sector Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT).
