The country’s first ever Business Outsourcing Ready facility Inaugurated in KP | Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf

 

KP's first move towards digitalization; Advisor to CM KP on ST&IT Zia Ullah Khan Bangash inaugurated the country’s first ever Business Outsourcing (BPO) Ready facility (Work Around) at KP Information Technology Board Peshawar where more than 700 jobs will be provided to youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is a step towards the Digital Pakistan vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and creating more job opportunities for youth of the province.

Established under the name of “Work Around,” the project aims to create digital job opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and make the workforce more technology-savvy.

Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is a system that involves hiring another company to take responsibility for a set of business activities or a single function. Processes typically outsourced include payroll and benefits management and customer services in the form of call centres, among others. BPO system will provide space to national and international companies to set up their office in an environment where every facility, with exceptionally high standards, will be available to them.

While addressing the inaugural ceremony of Workaround, Zia Ullah Khan Bangash told that development of the country is directly linked to the Information Technology. Digitalizing the KP is their top priority.

Special Assistant to CM on Local Government, Kamran Khan Bangash, deptt officials and representatives of World Bank were also present on the occasion.

Zia Ullah Bangash stated that Workaround will provide 700 direct jobs to the youth of the province; the facility will be extended to all major districts of KP which will help to provide employment to thousands of youth. Under Digital KP 2020 initiative all departments will be digitalized. It will enhance the performance of these departments.

Zia Ullah Bangash further said that KP is most suitable province for national and international investors and donors. Initially three leading national BPO operating companies has started their setups in Workaround. For the smooth functioning of the project, we have ensured that the BPO centre is supplied with fast computers and high-speed internet, among several other amenities. He said that KPITB is providing state-of-the-art ready fully equipped facility to investors. The initiative will boost the IT sector.

Zia Ullah Bangash said that his department has fluently started work on Digital KP 2020 policy and strategy. Deptt establishing Citizen Facilitation Center (CFC) in different location which will provide all kind basic of facilities to masses.

Special Assistant to CM on Local Government Kamran Khan Bangash expressed that the Local Government department will take lead in following digital policy of KP. Kamran Bangash congratulated IT Board for their valuable initiatives. [20.02.20]
