The Tsunami in Slough is gaining momentum fast | Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf
6 August - Slough - After exactly one month of its inauguration on 5th July, PTI Slough consolidated its formation with a fresh wave of members joining its ranks at an Iftar party held at Murgh Pilao restaurant in Slough on Sunday 5th August. The Iftar dinner was organised by PTI member and prominent local professional Sikandar Ali, who marked the occasion to bring 15 other members to the party fold. Amongst the new comers were Tariq Ali, Qasim Baba, Malik Naseer, Younis Awan, Sajjad Riaz, Faraz Riaz, Nasir Bhadar, Malik Yasin, Malik Arshad, Madasar Anwar, Shakeel Arshad, Shakeel Khokar, Imran khan, Miran Chaudary, Mohammad Hafiz and Tariq Hanif. Mr Sikander Ali had played a pivotal role in persuading some of the new comers. The new comers included converts from other parties who proudly and emotionally declared their allegiance to PTI amongst the cheering from the participants. After a delicious Iftar dinner, the gathering was addressed by several speakers. Asim Basraa, president of South East thanked Sikander Ali for organising the event and welcomed the new comers and outlined the core role of PTI UK and its regional structure. The new members were given further insight into PTI goals and challenges of today and immediate future in the form of short speeches by Asim Khan, president PTI London, Hamid Sana and Aamer Rana - Finance Secretary and General Secretary PTI UK South East respectively and Asad Mahmood, Insaf Research Wing coordinator. As a result of broader discussions prior to the function Sikandar Ali was formally appointed Head of the PTI business forum. In his speech, Sikandar Ali thanked the newcomers and gave individual accounts of some of the converts to PTI. He emphasised upon extending the message to silent PTI supporters who were out there in large numbers to be contacted. In the final open question session, various matters including party unity within UK were raised and importance of unity was acknowledged all around. Answering a question during the open discussion, town coordinator Chaudhary Faisal Ilyas outlined how PTI Slough team was going to launch its membership drive after Ramadan. During the final session, Anwar ul Haq, the head of regional Core Committee, gave a short briefing on the challenges and directions ahead.
