Statement from Chairman Imran Khan from Adiala Jail

“In the law of the jungle that has engulfed Pakistan, the glaring disparity in the treatment meted out to a political prisoner, myself, and a renowned corrupt money launderer, Nawaz Sharif, exposes a disturbing reality of double standards and injustice.

While Nawaz Sharif enjoyed the liberty of meeting more than 24 people, as if he were presiding over a meeting of his own, I have been limited to just 6, all under constant surveillance by the notorious intelligence agencies, violating all norms of privacy and hence denying the free access to legal & political aides.

Not to mention that my Vice Chairman and party President are also in jail, and are not allowed to meet me or any party member.

The restricted access to media and in-camera jail trials further highlight the extent of shadiness & melafide intentions of the military authorities.

This stark contrast in the treatment reeks bias & hatred and destroys any last bit of fairness and equity.

All this is a symptom of a bigger disease i.e Law of Jungle as outlined by 6 Judges of the Islamabad High Court. This curse of lawlessness will spare no-one if not resisted fiercely.”
