Here are the complete details of Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project
Availability of Water:
Total rain days on the catchment of Ravi in Pakistan : 30-40
Average annual rainfall :650mm
Source of flows in river: (rain fall runoff+ Marla Ravi link Canal + Seepage water from Indian side)
Water in the river on 5-08-2020 : 25000 Cfs (17000 MR link canal water +3000 seepage water from India + rainwater)
Creation of Lake:
River will be channelized stating from 5 kilometres down stream of BRB canal up to Hadira drain width of one kilometre
Capacity of lake: 271 billion liters
Ground water extraction for domestic+ industrial use 4 billion litters/day
Seepage + evaporation from lake: one billion litters / day
Addition of 2.4 billion liters/day in to river Ravi in low flow seasons
Waste Water Treatment Plants
Treatment of 2.4 billion litters/day
Total cost Around 100 billions
This additional water will irrigate 75000 acre of land
Surface water Treatment Plant
Provision of 2.4 billion litters /day safe drinking water from canal water
