<p> <b>Punjab government responsible for death of hundreds</b></p> <p class="MsoNormal">The Punjab Government is responsible for the death of hundreds through the use of spurious medicines said Ahsan Rashid, President Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Punjab. He said that the real nature of the crisis is not visible as yet. What we are seeing are the deaths in the Punjab Institute of Cardiology but no statistics are available from other hospitals in the province. It is inconceivable that these tainted medicines were only supplied in this particular hospital. The greater possibility is that that they were distributed all over the province. The Punjab Government is deliberately suppressing the incidents of mortality in other places.<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Ahsan Rashid also said that there are credible reports that these medicines were bought from unauthorized sources because of political considerations. There are two categories of medicines. Those that are approved by the health department and those are unapproved. It needs to be investigated whether these medicines which have resulted in so many tragic deaths were on the unapproved list and supplied by parties that are politically connected. Only an impartial inquiry can determine what the truth is. The Lahore High Court Chief Justice is requested to take sue motto notice of the matter because so many people have lost their life.<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">The delayed reaction by Punjab Government and the arrest of people is designed for political mileage. It also amounts to a smokescreen. While the culprits must be punished it must not be confined to a few but all those who are responsible. Punjab Government should also apologize to the people of the province.</p>
