August 11, 2012 ??? London: Today PTI London Dream Team organised a members??? meeting and iftar dinner with Mr Asad Umar, Justice (R) Khalid Javed and Col (R) Ijaz Minhas. The event was held in Central London and members from other regions also participated along with UK elected bodies. The evening was organised for members as an informal question and answer session with the guests from PTI Pakistan. The evening started with recitation of the Holly Quran. Event Team coordinator Kashif Khan thanked the guests for being there and said that this event is a learning opportunity for all the members. During the question answer session, Mr Asad Umar said that he feels lucky to be part of this amazing team and loves his time at PTI. He said that at the prime of his career, he decided that he should work for the country and PTI was the only platform which he thought was capable of delivering the promises. He said that Imran Khan is honest, focused and a very dedicated leader, he said that Imran Khan has worked hard to gather a large team of technocrats and has always emphasised on developing policies to help the dire situation the nation is in. Answering a question about policies about terrorism, Mr Umar said that PTI has a very clear policy to tackle this issue. He said that only with an excellent education system, a just society with equal opportunities for everyone and economic development; it would be possible to solve this grave problem. He said that our current education and economic system has made it very difficult for people from deprived backgrounds. He said that along with multi class education system that biggest problem is that almost half of the population does not have any type of access to formal education. He said the biggest hurdle in the way to develop a better economic model is corruption and political mafias. He criticised the PML (N) and said that despite ruling Punjab 5 times and twice being in national Govt, they have failed to implement a proper taxation system. This has in turn resulted in massive inflation and poor industrial growth. He said that despite all the claims of good governess they have failed to improve a common man???s life. He said that the current ruling parties in federal and provinces are all working to safe guard their own interests and are not focusing on real issues. Answering a question from a member, he said that accountability should start from top, and PTI is the only political power in Pakistan which has setup an internal accountability process.  He also mentioned that inter party election in PTI will make PTI a true democratic party, the only one is Pakistan. He said that Imran Khan has a track record of delivering his promises and inter party election are another promise he is determined to deliver. He said that, PTI has been working on grass root level in Sindh and Balochistan and has found a lot of success in recent months. He said that majority of new member from these provinces are below the age of 25 and have been attracted to PTI because of PTI???s policies and clean leadership. He told the audience that the recent membership drive???s results are still in processing and so far around 9 million registrations have been counted. He said that the data is being analysed on electoral block level, and this will help PTI to focus on those areas with low membership results. Col (R) Ijaz Minhas, said that he was very happy to see the PTI UK members and their recent work. He said that PTI is the only option for patriot Pakistanis and in the current situation it is even more important for every Pakistani to play their part for their country. Justice (R) Kahlid Javed said that PTI has the largest youth vote bank in Pakistan. He said that youth is a force and need to be harnessed and channelized to more focused work force of tomorrow. He said that PTI has provided an ideal platform for Pakistan???s vibrant youth to work for their country. At the end of the event, Mr Umar thanked the London President Mr Asim Khan for arranging the event and said that he was happy to see that in such a short time, the elected bodies have got so organised and structured. He asked all the members to focus on memberships and fund raising for PTI Pakistan. London General Secretary Furqan Nadeem thanked the London Dream Team  for such a well organised evening.
