PTI KSA and UAE regional bodies restructured

<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>In a telephonic meeting with the PTI KSA national body, the Middle East Information Sec, and Middle East Coordinator Muhammad Nadeem Muhammad discussed matters related to the outlook of PTI Middle East for the year 2010. The main agenda items discussed during this session included:<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> (1) Issues related to the local chapters within the Middle East countries, especially <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Saudi Arabia</st1:place></st1:country-region> and UAE.<o:p></o:p> (2) Strategy for increasing membership of the chapters in the region.<o:p></o:p> (3) PTIs plan for the year 2010<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Based on the input from all the participants and performance evaluation of the various chapters across the region, the Middle East Coordinator, Information sec and the KSA Coordinator mutually decided to restructure the local bodies of Northern Emirates in the UAE, the Central, Eastern and Western regional chapters in Saudi Arabia (KSA), respectively. <o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> As part of the restructuring process, the regional bodies of <o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> <ol type="1" style="margin-top: 0cm"> <li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list 36.0pt">Northern Emirates UAE<o:p></o:p></li> <li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list 36.0pt"><st1:placename w:st="on">Central</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Regional</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Kingdom</st1:placetype> of <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Saudi Arabia</st1:place></st1:country-region><o:p></o:p></li> <li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list 36.0pt">Eastern <st1:placename w:st="on">Region</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Kingdom</st1:placetype> of <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Saudi Arabia</st1:place></st1:country-region><o:p></o:p></li> <li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list 36.0pt"><st1:placename w:st="on">Western</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Region</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Kingdom</st1:placetype> of <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Saudi Arabia</st1:place></st1:country-region><o:p></o:p></li> </ol> <o:p> </o:p> Are being dissolved and a concept of city level bodies is being introduced, whereby the office bearers of each city will be directly answerable to the national body of the country. Moreover, new appointments will be made as part of this restructuring, which might include retaining some of the existing office bearers based on their past performance, while also giving a chance to new individuals. On Instructions of Middle East Coordinator the Notifications with regards to the revision of roles or new appointments should be issued within 2 weeks time to the selected individuals by Coordination Committee UAE in UAE and Mr. Fawad Ch Coordinator KSA in KSA locally. <o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> <o:p> </o:p> The meeting participants also decided that as part of the strategy to increase paid membership, the national body will plan more frequent trips to the local city chapters, hence helping increase interaction with the city members and strengthening the overall functioning of each country in <st1:place w:st="on">Middle East</st1:place>.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> With regards to the plan for 2010, the Middle East coordinator stressed on the importance of paid membership for PTI and advised all the chapters in Middle East to concentrate in helping to increase this critical source of financial support for PTIs activities in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Pakistan</st1:place></st1:country-region>.
