"God willing, 2025 will be the year of genuine sovereignty, democracy and rule of law. 2024 was a challenging year for Pakistan. Undoubtedly, freedom is always hard-earned!
The proposal I received for a deal was: "Negotiate with us, and we will give your party 'political space', but you will be placed under house arrest and moved to Bani Gala."
My response was that all other political prisoners must first be released. I would rather stay in jail than accept any deal. I will neither go into house arrest nor to any jail in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
My message to my nation is to not lose heart; your captain is standing firm!
To overseas Pakistanis:
Join the campaign to boycott remittances. Currently, the government is playing 'committee after committee' regarding our demands. If negotiations yield positive results, the boycott campaign will be halted. This is a protest for true freedom and the restoration of democracy.
Had there been rule of law in the country, we would have attracted investments, and the economy would have stabilized. But no attention was paid to this. Investors are withdrawing their capital, and factories are shutting down.
Trials related to May 9 were conducted in military courts on their whims. If these trials had been conducted in open courts, the video footage of the events of May 9 would have had to be presented. The video record of the attack on me at the Islamabad Judicial Complex on March 18, 2023, was deliberately made to disappear. A transparent trial is a fundamental constitutional right of citizens. Trying cases in military courts has violated the basic rights of citizens and has caused severe embarrassment for Pakistan at an international level.
The Constitutional bench has been set up (in the Supreme Court) so that it can be used the way Qazi Faez Isa was being used.
Intelligence agencies are meant to safeguard our borders and prevent terrorism. Who will guard our borders if their focus is on political engineering and dismantling PTI? They must rethink their policies.
Afghanistan has been bombed twice. Earlier, it was claimed that forcibly repatriating refugees would reduce terrorism, but it only fueled hatred, which is detrimental to regional peace. Not once did Bilawal, when he was the Foreign Minister, visit Afghanistan although that should have been the priority. I had even told General (Rtd.) Bajwa to not replace General (Rtd.) Faiz because the situation in Afghanistan would be very different after the US forces exited. However, he was making decisions to enable his own extension rather than to benefit Pakistan. Which is why Pakistan suffered as there was an increase in terrorism."

میں نے جواب دیا ہے کہ پہلے باقی تمام سیاسی قیدیوں کو رہا کرو- میں جیل میں رہ لوں گا لیکن کوئی ڈیل قبول نہیں کروں گا- ہاؤس اریسٹ یا خیبرپختونخوا کی کسی جیل میں نہیں جاؤں گا-
اپنی قوم سے کہتا ہوں کہ آپ نے گھبرانا نہیں ہے، آپ کا کپتان ڈٹا ہوا ہے-
میں اپنے سمندر پار پاکستانیوں سے کہوں گا کہ ترسیلاتِ زر کے بائیکاٹ کی مہم میں شامل ہوں۔ ابھی ہمارے مطالبات کے حوالے سے کمیٹی کمیٹی ہی کھیلا جا رہا ہے۔ تاہم اگر مذاکرات سے مثبت نتائج آئے تو ترسیلات زر کے بائیکاٹ کی مہم روک دی جائے گی- یہ حقیقی آزادی اور جمہوریت کی بحالی کے لئے ایک احتجاج ہے۔
اگر قانون کی حکمرانی ہوتی تو ملک میں سرمایہ کاری آتی اور معیشت سنبھل جاتی مگر اس پر کوئی توجہ نہیں دی گئی- سرمایہ دار اپنا سرمایہ نکال رہے ہیں اور کارخانے بند ہو رہے ہیں-
ملٹری کورٹ میں نو مئی سے متعلق اپنی مرضی کے ٹرائل کئے گئے ۔ اوپن کورٹ میں ٹرائل چلائے جاتے تو نو مئی کی ویڈیو فوٹیج دینی پڑتی۔ اٹھارہ مارچ 2023 کو میرے اوپر جوڈیشل کمپلیکس اسلام آباد میں حملے کی ویڈیو کا ریکارڈ دانستہ طور پہ غائب کیا گیا۔ شفاف ٹرائل شہریوں کا بنیادی آئینی حق ہے۔ فوجی عدالتوں میں مقدمات چلانے سے شہریوں کے بنیادی حقوق صلب ہوئے اور بین الاقوامی سطح پہ پاکستان کی شدید سُبکی ہوئی ہے۔
آئینی عدالت اس لیے بنائی گئی ہے تاکہ قاضی فائز عیسٰی کی طرح ہی ان سے کام لیا جا سکے-
خفیہ اداروں کا اصل کام سرحدوں کا تحفظ اور دہشتگردی سے بچاؤ ہے، اگر وہ پولیٹیکل انجنئیرنگ اور تحریک انصاف کو توڑنے میں ہی لگے رہیں گے تو سرحدوں کا تحفظ کون کرے گا؟ اپنی پالیسی کا دوبارہ جائزہ لیں-
افغانستان پر دو دفعہ بمباری کی گئی ہے- پہلے دعوٰی کیا گیا تھا کہ مہاجرین کو زبردستی واپس بھیجنے سے دہشتگردی کم ہو گی مگر اس طریقہ کار سے نفرت مزید بڑھی جو علاقائی امن و امان کے لیے ٹھیک نہیں ہے- بلاول جب وزیر خارجہ بنا تو ایک بار بھی افغانستان نہیں گیا جو کہ ایک ترجیح ہونا چاہییے تھا- میں نے جنرل باجوہ کو بھی کہا تھا کہ افغانستان سے امریکی انخلاء کے بعد حالات ایسے نہیں کہ ISI چیف جنرل فیض کو فوری تبدیل کیا جائے لیکن وہ سارے فیصلے پاکستان کی بجائے اپنی توسیع کے منصوبے کے لیے کر رہا تھا جس کا پاکستان کو نقصان ہوا اور دہشتگردی میں اضافہ ہوا
