Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Special Message on "Kashmir Solidarity Day"- February 5, 2025
On Kashmir Solidarity Day, we reaffirm our commitment as a nation to continue extending diplomatic, moral, and political support to the Kashmiri people until they attain their rightful freedom. Kashmir has endured occupation, oppression, and tyranny for over seven decades, yet the Kashmiri people's spirit of freedom has never waned. This serves as a profound lesson for those who understand—that neither ideologies can be altered through the use of force nor can the passion for freedom be extinguished by the barrel of a gun. This also reinforces my stance that deploying military forces can never be a solution to civil issues.
The people of Kashmir must be granted their right to self-determination in accordance with United Nations resolutions. A lasting peace in this region is unattainable without the resolution of the Kashmir issue, and the international community must play its due role in this regard. Once again, I urge the global community to take notice of the grave human rights violations in Kashmir and to contribute toward a just resolution of the dispute in accordance with UN resolutions.
As Prime Minister, I made continuous diplomatic efforts to highlight the Kashmir issue on the global stage. Since day one, my stance has been clear: the establishment of friendly relations between Pakistan and India is contingent upon the resolution of the Kashmir dispute as per UN resolutions.
The struggle for Kashmir’s freedom will resume with renewed vigor whenever the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government returns to power. As a nation, Pakistanis will stand by their Kashmiri brothers and sisters until the dawn of their long-awaited freedom. By the will of God, that day will come when my Kashmiri people will breathe in the air of liberty, and the valley—once echoing with the sounds of gunfire—will resonate with the songs of freedom. یوم یکجہتئ کشمیر پر ہم اس عہد کی تجدید کرتے ہیں کہ ہم من حیث القوم کشمیریوں کے حقوق کے حصول تک ان کی سفارتی، اخلاقی اور سیاسی حمایت جاری رکھیں گے۔ 7 دہائیوں سے کشمیر پر تسلط اور جبر و فسطائیت کا راج ہے اس کے باوجود کشمیریوں کا جذبہء آزادی ماند نہیں پڑ سکا۔ اس میں عقل والوں کے لیے یہ پیغام پنہاں ہے کہ بندوق کے زور سے نظریات تبدیل کئے جا سکتے ہیں نہ جذبہ آزادی کو مٹایا جا سکتا ہے۔ اس سے میرے اس بیانیے کو بھی تقویت ملتی ہے کہ فوجیں تعینات کرنے سے کبھی بھی سول مسائل کا حل ممکن نہیں ہوتا۔
کشمیریوں کو اقوم متحدہ کی قراردادوں کی روشنی میں ان کا حق خود ارادیت ملنا چاہیے۔ اس خطے میں پائیدار امن کے لیے مسئلہ کشمیر کا حل ناگزیر ہے جس کے لیے اقوام عالم کو اپنا کردار ادا کرنا چاہیے۔ میں ایک مرتبہ پھر عالمی برادری سے مطالبہ کرتا ہوں کہ وہ کشمیر میں انسانی حقوق کی سنگین خلاف ورزیوں کا نوٹس لے اور اقوامِ متحدہ کی قراردادوں کے مطابق مسئلہ کشمیر کے منصفانہ حل کے لیے اپنا کردار ادا کرے۔
بطور وزیراعظم میں نے مسئلہ کشمیر اجاگر کرنے کے لیے سفارتی سطح پر مسلسل کوششیں کیں۔ میرا شروع دن سے یہی موقف ہے کہ پاکستان اور بھارت میں دوستانہ تعلقات کا قیام اقوم متحدہ کی قراردادوں کے مطابق مسئلہ کشمیر کے حل سے مشروط ہے۔
پاکستان میں جب بھی تحریک انصاف کی حکومت واپس آئی کشمیری عوام کی آزادی کے لیے جدوجہد کو اسی سرے سے دوبارہ شروع کیا جائے گا۔ بحیثیت قوم پاکستانی اپنے کشمیری بھائیوں کے ساتھ تب تک کھڑے رہیں گے جب تک ان پر آزادی کا سورج طلوع نہیں ہوتا۔ انشاء اللہ وہ دن آ کر رہے گا جب میری کشمیری قوم کو آزاد فضا میں سانس لینا نصیب ہو گااور اس جنت نظیر وادی میں بندوقوں کی بجائے آزادی کے نغمے گونجیں گے، انشاء اللہ
