Arbitrarily Detained Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Conversation with His Legal Team — April 29, 2025
“During the darkest days of World War II, as German bombs rained down on London, Prime Minister Winston Churchill declared, “If our courts are delivering justice, we cannot be defeated.” Today, in Pakistan, unfortunately the judiciary stands in stark contrast to this standard. Justice is not merely delayed — it is being systematically crushed.
My wife and I remain in illegal detention, not because we have committed any crime, but solely for political victimization. The state's refusal to allow me access to my legal counsel and family is further proof of the fraudulent nature of the charges against us.
The treatment of women political prisoners is destroying Pakistan’s image. The ongoing incarceration of Dr. Yasmin Rashid, the baseless arrest of Aliya Hamza, and the unjust conviction of Bushra Bibi in a case she had no link to, all attest to the nature of politics of vengeance that the current regime is involved in.
Pakistan’s judicial institutions have been hijacked. Court-packing and blatant manipulation are being used to prevent justice from being delivered. I am being deliberately denied the right to consult my legal team. The objectives of this judicial sabotage are clear:
To block hearings in my cases, ensuring my indefinite imprisonment under bogus charges.
To grant illegitimate legal cover to a rigged, puppet government imposed after a stolen election.
The state’s ruthless policy against Afghan refugees is reprehensible. Forced deportations and mistreatment are sowing seeds of unrest and hatred within the country. Reports of enforced disappearances, similar to those in Balochistan, are surfacing once again, and they demand urgent, independent investigation. The fallout from these dangerous policies of the “power brokers” will inevitably be blamed on the provincial government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. I urge Ali Amin to take immediate action to protect the rights of the people and reject these oppressive directives. Cases of electoral fraud have been deliberately buried for over a year. Junaid Akbar must now lead the development of a decisive political and protest strategy.
The Insaf Lawyers Forum must field its own candidates in the upcoming Bar Council elections, under the leadership of Intazar Panjutha. The entire party must lend its full support to our nominees.”

بدقسمتی سے، آج ہمارا عدالتی نظام اس معیار کے بالکل برعکس کھڑا ہے۔ انصاف نہ صرف تاخیر کا شکار ہے، بلکہ دانستہ طور پر دبایا جا رہا ہے۔ مجھے اور میری اہلیہ کو صرف سیاسی انتقام کا نشانہ بنا کر قید میں رکھا گیا ہے۔ میرے وکلا اور اہل خانہ سے ملاقات نہ ہونے دینا ان جعلی مقدمات کی قلعی کھول دیتا ہے۔
خواتین کے ساتھ جو غیر انسانی سلوک روا رکھا جا رہا ہے، وہ پوری دنیا کے سامنے پاکستان کا امیج تباہ کر رہا ہے۔ ڈاکٹر یاسمین راشد کو مسلسل جیل میں رکھنا، عالیہ حمزہ کی بلاجواز گرفتاری، اور بشریٰ بی بی کو ایسے مقدمے میں سزا دینا جس سے ان کا کوئی تعلق ہی نہیں، اس انتقامی طرز سیاست کا واضح ثبوت ہے۔
عدالتوں کو مفلوج کر دیا گیا ہے۔ مجھے اپنے وکلا سے ملاقات کی اجازت نہیں دی جا رہی۔ کورٹ پیکنگ کے ذریعے انصاف کی راہ میں رکاوٹیں کھڑی کر دی گئی ہیں۔ اس کا مقصد یہ ہے کہ:
1. میرے کیسز کی سنوائی ہی نہ ہو تاکہ جھوٹے مقدمات میں مجھے قید رکھا جا سکے۔
2. الیکشن کے بعد بننے والے جعلی حکومتی سیٹ اپ کو قانونی تحفظ دیا جا سکے۔
افغان مہاجرین سے متعلق موجودہ پالیسی ہرگز درست نہیں۔ ان کے ساتھ روا رکھا جانے والا سلوک اور زبردستی ملک بدری کے اقدامات ملک میں مزید بدامنی اور نفرت کو ہوا دے رہے ہیں۔ اس کے ساتھ بلوچستان طرز کے اغوا کے واقعات رپورٹ ہو رہے ہیں جو کہ انتہائی قابل تفشیش ہیں- “فیصلہ سازوں” کی غلط پالیسیوں کے نتائج کا ملبہ خیبرپختونخوا کی صوبائی حکومت پر آئے گا اس لیے علی امین کو ان معاملات پر ایکشن لینا چاہیے- دھاندلی کے کیسز ایک سال سے لٹکے ہوئے ہیں ، اس حوالے سے جنید اکبر سیاسی اور احتجاجی حکمت عملی بنائیں-
