Dr. Yasmeen Rashid's Letter to the Form 47 Cheif Minister Punjab
Subject: Grave Concerns Over Governance and Human Rights Violations in Punjab
Madam,
A fascist government led by an incompetent form 47 chief minister and supported by the deep state have crossed all limits. She has completely trampled human rights in Punjab. There is a complete disarray and disconnect between the government and the people of Punjab.
The health department is in shambles. While this was the same department which was appreciated all over the world in PTI tenure because of the management of Covid, what is the CM doing? Selling Jinnah Hospital and Allama Iqbal Medical College. A hospital made to honor Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and a college to honor the poet of East Allama Iqbal, in lieu of which she is constructing a cancer hospital in the name of Nawaz Sharif, her father who could not even win in February 2024 election. Shame on you, what a farce, and you want the medical fraternity to accept this without raising their voice? You want to build a hospital in your father‘s name—use your own money. Why are you burdening the taxpayers? You used all the force against the medical personnel—water cannon and baton charging was the call of the day.
In a time where the poverty index has gone above 40% you are snatching their jobs rather than providing jobs. In PTI tenure, 33,000 medical personnel were hired permanently.
The farmers have been destroyed by your wrong policies and they form the backbone of our economy and ensure our food security. You have trampled on all their rights.
Madam, if you are so sure of all your popularity after all the advertisements, photo sessions, TikToking, and your pictures even on the waste dumpers at the expense of the government, why have you arrested Alia Hamza? If you feel threatened by her, think what will happen when Imran Khan comes out.
