26th September 2023 News Headlines

A summary of today's important and breaking news regarding PTI and the country that the mainstream media of Pakistan will never show you.

  1. Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf and Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been unlawfully detained for 52 days now. Imran Khan is being denied continuous access to justice, and his basic human rights are being violated. Today, once again, the hearing of the Cypher case took place inside the prison, which is entirely unconstitutional. Despite no evidence being presented by the FIA, Judge Zulqarnain Abul Hasnaat further extended Imran Khan's judicial remand until October 10th.
  2. Chairman Imran Khan had a meeting with his legal team. After the meeting, the lawyers stated, “We had a meeting with Mr. Imran Khan in Attock Jail. He has refuted all news circulating regarding any kind of pardon or deal. He said, 'If you are in jail for the sake of politics, it becomes a punishment but if you are imprisoned for the freedom of the nation, then it becomes a worship. MashaAllah, he is fine. He has said that “Your Captain will never let you bow down your head in shame. My deal is only with the Pakistani people.'"
  3. During the hearing of the Cypher case today, Chairman Imran Khan, while speaking, said, “I am settled well in Attock Jail. I have no concerns about facilities. I will tell my lawyers to withdraw the application for Adiala Jail, because I am here not for political reasons but to struggle for the real freedom of the nation.”
  4. Vice Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, was once again presented in court with handcuffs. The court has once again extended his judicial remand. So far, FIA has been unable to provide any evidence against Shah Mahmood Qureshi. Speaking to the media, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said, 'Conscience is satisfied, intentions are clear, records are clean, we are innocent. We are facing the consequences of uncommitted sins. Elections without Tehreek-e-Insaf will be meaningless. It will have no significance.'
  5. After Chairman Imran Khan, his wife is also being continuously subjected to court proceedings. Lawyer Naeem Haider Panjutha mentioned in his tweet, ‘We appeared in the NAB court with Mrs. Imran Khan. In both cases of Toshkhana and Al-Qadir Trust, we have requested for a fair trial and due process to be followed. NAB is saying today we don't need to arrest Bushra Bibi, there is no warrant. But they can arrest her suddenly tomorrow. At least, let us know in advance so that we can arrange for bail or make a decision based on merit. The hearing has been adjourned.  Their only aim is to tire out Imran Khan and his family so that they give in, which will never happen.”
  6. Speaking in the “The Daily Talk Show”, guest Irfan Alvi said, “Illegal arrests have been made to spread fear among the people. After spending over four months in jails, workers are even more resolute and united with Imran Khan. What has been achieved? Even LUMS professors and doctors are facing charges of treachery.”
  7. Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, Justice Aamir Farooq, while announcing the decision on the request of Chairman Imran Khan's lawyers, said that the next hearing of the Cypher bail case will be held in the open court. However, if FIA wants the case to be heard in-camera, they can submit a separate request. The court has set a new date for the bail case, which is October 2nd.
  8. After May 9th, the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court has ordered the release of 9 women prisoners who have been illegally detained for the past 5 months. However, Lahore police re-arrested the women prisoners as soon as they were released. This is not only a contempt of court, but also a serious violation of human rights."
  9. Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, going out of his way in showing his loyalty, stated in America that even without Imran Khan, the next elections can take place. In response, the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan strongly criticized and said that the caretaker Prime Minister does not have the authority to decide who will participate in the elections and who will not. We strongly condemn his statement.
  10. President of PTI Sindh Minority Wing, Rajesh Kumar's business has been shut down by the Sindh government simply because of his affiliation with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. This is not only an example of fascism but also the worst form of insensitivity. Closing down businesses in the already devastated economy will only affect the poor people.
  11. The delegation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf led by former Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser met with the representatives of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan, Ameer Maulana Mohammad Khan Sherani, Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan, and Maulana Abdul Khaliq. Detailed discussions took place on the overall political situation of the country and matters of mutual interest. It was agreed in the meeting that on the basis of the free and fair opinion of the people, elected representatives should be given the opportunity to govern in Pakistan. They should lead the country out of the current serious situation towards progress.
  12. The caretaker Energy Minister has stated in his recent statement that work is underway to increase gas prices. With the new increase, the gas bills will see an increase of over 500. The 16-month government of the PDM has destroyed every sector, including gas and electricity.
  13. The Pakistan government is collecting 80 percent of its revenue through indirect taxes such as electricity, petrol, mobile phone bills, gas bills, ghee, soap, etc., which affects the poor more than the wealthy. While the poor face difficulties, this same poor man's money is being used to provide new cars and additional facilities to the elite classes, including government officials.
