The lawyer who signed Imran Khan's nomination papers disappeared from jail premises.
Founder Chairman Imran Khan's nomination papers were signed by Advocate Rai Muhammad Ali, after which he disappeared from the jail. And the lawyer standing outside was told that we don't know anything. This is the kind of fascism members of the biggest political party have to contest elections under.
Justice Aamer Farooq rejected the request to suspend Judge Humayun Dilawar's shameful Tosha Khana verdict.
Today, 138 days have passed since the illegal imprisonment of Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Prime Minister Imran Khan. After his arrest, Imran Khan was not even given the right to defend himself. In this case, Imran Khan was granted bail, but today, Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Aamer Farooq rejected the request for suspension of sentence. Lawyers reacted to Justice Aamer Farooq's decision, "On one side, the application has been pending for 11 months without a decision, while on the other, it is dismissed before the submission of nomination papers, ensuring Imran Khan disqualification stands."
Justice Aamer Farooq's order to complete the cipher case in 4 weeks even shocked his fellow judges.
A hearing was held today in the Islamabad High Court on the request for an open trial of the cipher case. Imran Khan's lawyer, Salman Akram Raja, told the court that in this case, Justice Aamer Farooq has also ordered the conclusion of the trial in 4 weeks in the decision to reject the bail application of Shah Mehmood Qureshi. On which Justice Gul Hasan Aurangzeb expressed his surprise and said, "We don't give such short time even in normal cases". The court rejected the request for an immediate stay order and adjourned the hearing till tomorrow.
Nawaz Sharif has appointed his two umpires.
Chairman Imran Khan's sister Aleema Khan told the media after meeting Imran Khan in Adiala Jail today. "Imran Khan says that Nawaz Sharif has now appointed two umpires. We asked which umpires. Imran Khan said that with the swift pace of the trail, everyone will soon understand which umpires. Did you know that they have fixed the date 30 to pronounce the death sentence? I am not contesting elections. I am only fighting my brother's case".
Fascism against Tehreek-e-Insaf by Chief Justice Faez Isa.
Nomination papers were confiscated from additional Tehreek-e-Insaf candidates. In Hafizabad, the DSP seized Shaukat Bhatti and Haider Bhatti's papers. Gujranwala's returning officers rejected PTI candidate Mian Tariq's papers. Sanam Javed's father was declined from taking her signature by the jail authorities. Major Tahir Sadiq's papers were also confiscated. Upon arrival at the returning officer's office, the family found that the deputy commissioner had fled. In Sialkot, police forcibly arrested a candidate submitting papers, while Gujarat's returning officer refused to accept nomination papers. Widespread fascism against PTI candidates persist nationwide.
Tehreek-e-Insaf has approached the Supreme Court, citing the deprivation of nomination papers and the absence of a fair playing field.
PTI approached the Supreme Court for a level playing field and transparent elections. Acting Chairman PTI Gohar Ali Khan applied. While Advocate Shoaib Shaheen also placed the matter before the Election Commission. Barrister Gohar said, "Imran Khan is not disqualified so far. Insha'Allah, Imran Khan will participate in the elections. He is fighting for the rights of the people. Hope for justice from the court."
Arrests of PTI candidates continued.
The PPP candidate was apprehended mistakenly, assuming he was a PTI candidate contesting against Nawaz League, when Imtiaz Chaudhry went to gather papers for PP 68 in Nowshera. He was released after clarifying his PPP affiliation.
Violence against peaceful Baloch protesters while the Prime Minister and Chief Justice are Baloch.
Instead of soothing the wounds of oppressed Baloch, who were peacefully marching to protect against the abduction of their loved ones from unlawful detention last night, tear gas, water cannons, baton charges, and violence were unleashed upon them.
The Islamabad administration and police have spread terror in the capital for the past 21 months and have violated all moral and legal boundaries. And these officers will not be transferred even during the election. Chief Justice of Balochistan, the Expired Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Senate should take immediate notice of this matter.
Hammad Azhar's home was attacked by masked personnel, harassing his old mother.
Masked individuals attacked the residence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Acting President of Punjab, Hammad Azhar. His elderly mother, the sole occupant, was threatened. The police also arrested the former MPA from Bannu at his residence. Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Fakhir Nishat Ghumman's house in Sambaryal faced a police raid with excessive force. Women in the house were subjected to violence, violating their privacy and the sanctity of their homes.
The women of Tehreek-e-Insaf are not afraid of fascism.
Despite violating the sanctity of their privacy and their homes, constant harassment and intimidation, Usman Dar's mother submitted her papers to contest the election on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ticket against Khawaja Asif. Dr. Yasmin Rashid also submitted nomination papers from jail for the specific seat.
Electricity costs have risen again, an additional burden on the poor.
NEPRA has approved a hike in electricity costs, raising it by Rs 1.15 per unit, effective from January 1, 2024, until March 2024. The quarterly increase applies to all consumers, including K Electric.
