14th October 2023 News Headlines

A summary of today's important and breaking news regarding PTI and the country that the mainstream media of Pakistan will never show you.

  1. Today, 69 days have passed since the illegal and inhumane imprisonment of Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Prime Minister Imran Khan. To keep Imran Khan in jail for a long time, neither his bail is being allowed nor his applications are forwarded, but the unconstitutional jail trial is running at lightning speed. The jail trial of the Cipher case will resume on Monday, while the decision on Imran Khan's requests for an open trial and the appointment of a judge has not yet come. A week passed and they could not complete those two or three days.
  2. Despite court orders, Imran Khan is being deprived of basic facilities. Chairman Imran Khan was transferred from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail because as a former Prime Minister he is entitled to a better jail class, but to break him, he has been given stricter imprisonment than Attock Jail. The size of Imran Khan's room is very small without any convenience. Lawyers also requested an early hearing for Imran Khan's home food and other facilities, but the Islamabad High Court is reluctant to give any decision.
  3. Palestinian ambassador gifts prayer beads to Imran Khan. The whole Muslim world knows that Imran Khan is the only leader who never compromises the honour and freedom of Muslims, that is why the Muslim world is missing the voice of Imran Khan at the time of atrocities on Palestine today. This was expressed by the ambassador of Palestine posted in Pakistan in a meeting with the leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf Babar Awan, and he presented a rosary with the colours of the Palestinian flag as a gift to Chairman Imran Khan.
  4. Non-Muslim countries also protested in favour of Palestine, but raising a voice for Palestine is a crime in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. On behalf of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf yesterday, a protest was recorded across the country in favour of the Palestinian people, in which children, elders, women, and youth all expressed solidarity with their oppressed Palestinian brothers and sisters by holding the Palestinian flag. But against this peaceful demonstration, the police once again cracked down, charged with batons, and made arrests. Such a ban on protests in favour of Palestinians is not found even in countries like the United States and the United Kingdom.
  5. Military trial of children under 18 years began in Pakistan. Spokesperson of Insaf Lawyers Forum Mashal Yousafzai said in her tweet "10 people from Bannu were produced in Kohat military court today for military trial, most of them were children under 18 years of age. The order of the Supreme Court was ignored. The trial has started.”
  6. The coverage on the media is negligible but the ground situation is that the government employees are protesting in all the districts of Punjab. Hundreds of women and men government employees have been arrested. In Faisalabad and Lahore, there has been a lathi charge after resistance by the employees and students. After the lathi charge, lockdown has been started by the staff in schools and hospitals across Punjab. The caretaker Punjab government is exploiting the employees on the issue of pension and leave encashment out of their mandate.
  7. State fascism continues against Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders. In Rahim Yar Khan, former Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Aamir Nawaz Chandia announced that he is giving his arrest after continuous police raids at his house. "There are 12 bogus FIRs against me. Police raided my house last night and I was not there. My 65-year-old father, two brothers and 6 cousins (one of whom is a liver cancer patient) have been arrested. I will always stand with Imran Khan.”
  8. Despite the full support and protocol of the state, people refuse to participate in PML-N Jalsas. In Punjab, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is not allowed to hold any kind of rally, while PML-N is holding jalsas with state protocol and support in which the people are refusing to participate. In Shahbaz Sharif's rally yesterday, people tore his banners from the trucks, refused to participate despite being tempted and kept chanting Long Live Imran Khan.
  9. Workers Convention of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf took place in Mardan today despite all state restrictions and atrocities. On one hand, the opponents of Tehreek-e-Insaf get official protocol and on the other hand, permission is not being given to Tehreek-e-Insaf. Today Mardan's Workers' Convention is the announcement of more conventions in the coming days.
  10. The country could not overcome the wave of inflation. The overall rate reached 38.28%, and the prices of 17 essential items increased further within a week. According to the report, during the recent week, tomatoes became expensive by Rs 7 per kg, the price of eggs per dozen increased by Rs 10, the price of an 800-gram packet of salt increased by Rs 3, and the price of garlic increased by Rs 5 per kg. Prices of mutton, beef, potato and onion also increased during the week.
  11. The head of the non-governmental development organization PATTAN, Sarwar Bari has expressed fear while analyzing the new voter lists that 1.3 million men and women will be disenfranchised in the upcoming elections. PATTAN's statement said that disturbing trends have emerged in the current voter list and the widespread under-registration of voters in the provinces is likely to create extraordinary scope for rigging and corruption in the upcoming general elections. According to Sarwar Bari, the Election Commission and NADRA have not registered eligible persons as voters in 102 out of 134 districts of the country, while in 17 districts the number of registered voters is more than the actual eligible persons.
