- Despite the orders of the Islamabad High Court, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan was not released; instead, he was arrested in a new illegal case and subjected to illegal proceedings inside the jail. Justice Abul Hasanat, a special judge of the Secret Act Court, was taken to Attock Jail, where he conducted the illegal hearing. Imran Khan's lawyers questioned the judge, "We kept asking from your court, was Imran Khan arrested or not?" But your court kept responding in the negative. The lawyers stated that this case is entirely unlawful and is merely a political revenge. They requested the immediate release of Imran Khan. The judge rejected the plea and extended the judicial remand until September 13.
- Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been in illegal detention for the past twenty-five days. Imran Khan met with his lawyers and wife today after the illegal hearing of the cypher case. Imran Khan conveyed a message through them to the nation, "Convey my message that the cypher case is aimed at saving only three people: one retired General Bajwa, the second Donald Lu, and the third the American Ambassador. I am ready to stay in the same narrow cell of this jail for another hundred years, but I won't make any compromise on my freedom." Imran Khan further stated, "A Pakistan without freedom is like a prison, and whether a person is inside or outside the prison doesn't matter, because real freedom lies in the rule of law and the supremacy of the constitution."
- Today, Imran Khan's lawyers have submitted three applications in the Islamabad High Court: a request for bail after arrest, a request to withdraw the Ministry of Interior's notification, and a request for an open trial. The court has issued notices for all three applications and set a hearing date of September 2nd. All applications will be heard on the 2nd.
- Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, was presented before a special court today. Whereby after rejecting the request for further physical remand, after nine days of physical remand, Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s remand has been made judicial. After the hearing of Imran Khan's case in Attock Jail, Judge Abul Hassanat Zulqarnain Sikander conducted the hearing of Shah Mahmood Qureshi's case. During the hearing, it became apparent that the FIA had not presented any evidence against Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
- In the meeting, a decision was made not to accept in anyways the proceedings of the secret trial against Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan, being conducted in Attock Jail, and vehement condemnation was expressed against his judicial remand and depriving him of the fundamental right of a fair trial. The legal team of the Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has already challenged the secret trial being held in jail in the court. The core committee also highly appreciated the determination and courage of the imprisoned leaders, especially the women workers, in the aftermath of the worst state oppression.
- Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial presided over a hearing in the Supreme Court against the NAB Amendments. Chief Justice remarked, "Accountability is the foundation of democracy; elections and votes are also a mechanism for the accountability of the government and parliamentary members. The NAB amendments have ended many crimes and transformed some, making it extremely difficult to prove certain crimes." The Chief Justice demanded a list of beneficiaries of the new law and continued that the hearing would resume until the conclusion of the trial.
- Today, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Sindh, Haleem Adil Sheikh, appeared before the Sindh High Court for bail. However, the Sindh Police arrested him forcefully. Haleem Adil Sheikh was manhandled and pushed and shoved from the premises of the court. Arresting someone from the premises of the court is a complete disregard for justice and the law.
- Today, an application has been filed in the Supreme Court against excessive billing for electricity. The application demands that both the judiciary and parliamentary members be denied the facility of free electricity and petrol. The country where ordinary citizens are losing their lives due to excessive billing for electricity, government officials and parliamentary members are freely using hundreds of units of electricity.
- The Islamabad Police have gone beyond all limits of illegality by violently demolishing the stall of a poor woman selling balloons in the I-8 Islamabad area. Without any reason, the stall of the destitute woman was destroyed, and they took away her balloons.
- The Food Department has stated that sugar is being imported at the rate of 220 rupees per kilogram. Currently, there is a surplus of 1 million tons of sugar in the country. The surplus reserves of sugar will need to be utilized by the Food Department. After the depletion of the surplus reserves of sugar, the imported sugar will enter the market, causing citizens to buy sugar at 220 rupees per kilogram instead of the government's rate of 100 rupees per kilogram.
- The PDM government, after trapping the country in the quagmire of inflation, poverty, unemployment, and despair, upon their departure, the actual effects of their mismanagement are now becoming evident. The interbank dollar rate has reached its highest level in history. There has been an increase of 95 paisas in the interbank dollar rate, making the dollar worth 304 rupees.
- Pakistan has surpassed Nigeria and Laos in inflation, according to Trading Economics. According to economic data, Pakistan is now ranked fourth in Asia in terms of inflation. Iran, Syria, and Lebanon are the only Asian countries with higher inflation rates than Pakistan. During Imran Khan's tenure, Pakistan was the cheapest country in Asia.
- The caretaker government has started preparations to increase the price of petroleum after electricity. It is expected that from September 1, the prices of petroleum products may increase by up to 15 rupees per litre. The price of diesel is expected to increase by 14 rupees, while the prices of petrol may increase by up to 10 rupees per litre.
