- Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was unlawfully detained, has completed twenty-four days in custody today. Today, after 24 days, the sentence in his Toshakhana case has been suspended as ordered by the Islamabad High Court, but he has been re-arrested in the Cypher case. Imran Khan will appear in court on August 30 in the Cypher case. Imran Khan's lawyers have already filed a request against the arrest in the Cypher case in the Islamabad High Court.
- Bails of Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan, have been rejected on non-appearance in various courts, but in the Cypher case, NAB (National Accountability Bureau) has taken him into custody without him appearing in court. It is necessary for the accused to appear in court for bail or remand, yet Imran Khan has been put into custody again through unlawful means.
- After a court order, Chairman Imran Khan's wife and both sisters reached the jail to meet him. After the meeting, the women conveyed that Imran Khan's morale is absolutely high.
- Even a non-political woman, such as Chairman Imran Khan's wife, who has no connection to politics, is also being targeted where her transit bail has been extended until September 12.
- Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, the Central President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, is unlawfully detained. Despite the Lahore High Court's order for his release, NAB still has him under their custody. Today, Pervaiz Elahi appeared before the NAB court in Lahore, where his physical remand has been extended until September 2. He is being sentenced for standing with Imran Khan.
- After the decision of the Islamabad High Court, expressions of happiness were seen in various cities of the country. Sweets were distributed outside Attock Jail, the people celebrated. However, the fearful police arrested 9 supporters for peacefully celebrating Imran Khan’s release.
- Headed by the Chief Justice, the hearing on NAB's Amendments was held in the Supreme Court, on Imran Khan's request. During the hearing, the Chief Justice remarked, "The Practice and Procedure Bill is an attack on judicial freedom; the foundation of the Constitution has been shaken through the law. Some individuals have gotten exemptions from these NAB's Amendments.” The hearing was adjourned until tomorrow.
- Jamaat-e-Islami and Supreme Court Bar Association have submitted requests in the Supreme Court to hold elections within ninety days. This issue was first raised by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the Supreme Court.
- Despite the ongoing protests by the distressed public against high electricity bills, the government still plans to raise cost of electricity. The rate of electricity has risen to 2.07 rupees per unit. There will be a hearing on CPPA's request to increase electricity rates.
- The interbank dollar rate has reached 303 rupees, sugar is 180 rupees per kilo in Quetta, wheat flour is 14,800 rupees for 100 kilos, in Lahore's open market, sugar is 160 rupees, in posh areas 170 rupees per kilo, the stock market is down, medicines' prices have increased, electricity bills have surged. All these hardships imposed on the people were administered by the PDM who are now living peacefully abroad.
- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf announces full support for nationwide protests against the worst inflation and unbearable electricity bills. “Workers and responsible individuals should participate in the protests in a full-fledged manner and become the voice of the people in a peaceful manner”. - Core Committee Tehreek-e-Insaf
- “Instead of intensifying the destruction, the interim government should shift their entire focus towards facilitating the transition to the elected democratic government through holding timely elections.
