
Shandana Gulzar Khan is a core high-level member of PTI's core committee from Peshawar. She is a prominet activist for human rights, women's rights, Palestinian freedom and justice having served in the United Nations Development Programme, International Human Rights Law Group and other legal organizations. She is also currently serving as a Member of the National Assembly (MNA) from NA-30 Peshawar-III following her election victory by 78,971 votes in the 2024 election, becoming the first woman elected from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Since she joined the party in 2018, she has been active on human rights issues, justice, democratic rights, supporting Imran Khan, legal affairs and parliamentary roles.
Shandana Gulzar is the daughter of Gulzar Khan, a prominent politician. She recieved her Bachelor's Degree in Law from the University of Peshawar. She recieved her postgraduate education from the University of Cambridge in International Trade and International Economic Laws. She has promoted women's rights, human rights and justice as a legal and political activist, while also being a prominent speaker at public events including at the World Economic Forum and Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians, the latter of which she was elected as the chairman of from 2019 to 2022.
She entered Pakistani politics as a member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in 2018, when she was inducted into the National Assembly of Pakistan on a reserved seat for women. Prime Minister Imran Khan appointed Gulzar as Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Commerce in 2018. She also served as a member of the Standing Committee on Privatization, Planning, Development and Reform, Industries and Production and Special Committee on Agricultural Products. In 2022, she resigned in favour of Imran Khan amidst the motion of no-confidence against his government.
