Shahram Khan Tarakai is a senior member of PTI and a member of the National Assembly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). He has been the Minister of Health and Agriculture for KPK, Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Local Government, Elections, and Rural Development for KPK and Minister for Education for KPK and stressed innovation in key sectors including primary education while in office. He has stood with Imran Khan throughout his administrations in KPK. He was born to the influental Tarakai family in Swabi. He is well-studied and was elected a member of the KPK Assembly in the 2013 and 2018 elections under PTI from the PK-47 Swabi District. Following the 2018 elections, he served as Provincial Minister for Local Government, Elections, and Rural Development as well as Provincial Minister for Agriculture. Before joining PTI in 2015 he was a member of the Awami Jamhuri Ittehad from 2012 to 2015. He was elected as a member of the National Assembly from NA-20 Swabi II in the 2024 elections, this was despite major rigging in the elections against PTI. As an MNA, he has attended PTI press conferences and is an active member in the National Assembly for PTI.
