Qasim Khan Suri is a senior core member of PTI from Quetta, Balochistan since he joined the party in 1996. He is active in Imran Khan's struggle for justice, and served as President PTI Balochistan from 2021 to 2023. Despite him not holding the position anymore, he is still a top leader and representative for PTI in Balochistan and countrywide. Born in Quetta, Balochistan to a family of the Khijli clan, Qasim Suri received his lower education from the Quetta Islamia School, before enrolling in the Federal Government College in 1988. He received his bachelors degree in political science in 1990 and a masters degree in international relations in 1992, both from the University of Balochistan. He notably served as the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly after receiving 183 votes alongside Speaker Asad Qaiser in Imran Khan's government from 2018 to 2022. He has been dedicated to the PTI for a long time, and is well-respected for this.
Qasim Suri has been a member of PTI since its foundation in 1996, and has taken a high leadership role since 2007. He contested the 2013 elections for PTI. He also contested in the 2018 elections from the National Assembly seat NA-265 Quetta-II and won his seat by 25,973 votes. Following this, he served as the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly until 2022 for PTI. He played an important role as Deputy Speaker against the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan. Suri pointed out that parliamentarians voting against Imran Khan were taking external influence, threats or bribes, hence it was against Article 5 of the Constitution. Since 2022, he has fought alongside Imran Khan for an end to government repression and the release of Imran Khan.
