Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar | Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf
Leader of Opposition, Punjab Assembly

Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar is a Pakistani Punjabi politician who joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in 2013. He is currently the Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, representing PTI against the unlawful government of Maryam Nawaz, formed on the basis of blatant Form 47 rigging. He is also an agriculturalist, businessman and has been an MPA in the Punjab Assembly for three consecutive terms since 2013 as a PTI member.

Bhachar was born in Wan Bhachran in Mianwali, Punjab. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the Punjab. He joined PTI in 2013 and contested from PP-45 Mianwali-III in the 2013 Punjab election. He won and received 59,746 votes. He was re-elected as a PTI Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) from PP-87 Mianwali-III in the 2018 Punjab election. He served as the Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government & Community Development in the PTI Punjab administration post-2018. He was elected for the third time from PP-87 Mianwali-III as a PTI candidate in the 2024 Punjab election. PTI’s candidate for Chief Minister of Punjab, Mian Aslam Iqbal was unable to take the post of  Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly due to constant unlawful arrests and threats towards him, and hence Bhachar took the role.

Since then, Bhachar has exposed the PMLN Punjab government’s incompetence and corruption as he exposed Maryam Nawaz’s crackdown on PTI, in filing fabricated cases against PTI workers as well as abducting and silencing opposition members. Bhachar also delivered speeches showing how Punjab Assembly Speaker, Malik Ahmad Khan of PMLN purchased luxury cars and abused his constitutional powers as Speaker. Additionally, Bhachar has fought for human rights, a better provincial budget and better governance for Punjab as opposition leader.
