24th December 2023 News Headlines

A summary of today's important and breaking news regarding PTI and the country that the mainstream media of Pakistan will never show you.

Imran Khan has been in prison for 141 days, fighting for the nation's true freedom.

The illegal imprisonment of Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan started on August 5 in the ToshaKhana case. Later, on August 15, Imran Khan was secretly arrested in the cipher case. Imran Khan's bail has been approved in these two cases today, but he is being detained in NAB cases to keep him imprisoned before the election as per the wishes of the favourite Nawaz Sharif. Imran Khan is standing firm despite this oppression and is resolutely fighting fascism.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi could not be released despite the Supreme Court's order.

On Friday, the Supreme Court granted bail to Chairman Imran Khan and Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the cipher case. Imran Khan faced arrest in NAB cases, while Shah Mahmood Qureshi, with no other charges against him, remains in Adiala Jail. Despite the judge of the special court being present in Adiala jail until evening, no warrant for Shah Mahmood Qureshi was issued yesterday. As a result, the decision on his release has been postponed until Tuesday. Shah Mehmood Qureshi is detained for supporting Imran Khan and exposing the cipher conspiracy promptly.

The daughters of the nation are being humiliated while the courts remain silent.

Following the election schedule, there has been a surge in fascism nationwide, with the dignity of mothers, sisters, and daughters being violated. Police brutality targeted Usman Dar and Moonis Elahi's mother, while Sheikh Imtiaz's wife faced a similar ordeal in front of the RO appointed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa. The police confiscated nomination papers, mobile phones, and even her wallet. The prominent lawyer Sardar Latif Khosa's daughter and other women were forcibly taken away by the police, crossing all bounds of decency. Shockingly, they were made to sit in a police van with male officials. The question arises when will Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa intervene to safeguard the honor of the nation's daughters.

Fascism continues against Tehreek-e-Insaf candidates.

For the third consecutive day, Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Karamat Khokhar was denied the submission of his papers. The police and administration informed lawyers that they had "orders from above" prohibiting Karamat Khokhar from submitting his papers. In Gujarat, a police raid on Zahoor Palace resulted in the arrest of lawyers representing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf President Parvez Elahi and Moonis Elahi. Hammad Azhar's nomination papers were personally received by the Returning Officer. The police had blocked the road earlier.

District Election Commissioners write letters to the Election Commission on police brutality.

Two districts and one regional election commissioner wrote a letter to the Election Commission after seeing the brutality of the police against the candidates of Tehreek-e-Insaf after submitting their nomination papers. The letter said that the police are unnecessarily interfering in their work. And there is a big question mark on the transparency of the election. The Election Commission should take action against the administration.

A large number of people reached the RO office to submit the nomination papers of Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

The public has given this clear message by coming in large numbers to submit the nomination papers of Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Zain Hussain Qureshi and Mehr Bano Qureshi. On February 8, for the protection of their rights and true freedom, they will make a new history of public power by stamping the symbol of the "bat". People's love for Shah Mehmood Qureshi is due to his loyalty to Imran Khan.

Advocate Salman Shahid, who represented Tehreek-e-Insaf workers, has been abducted.

The police abducted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf advocate Salman Shahid Advocate and Yusuf Wayan Advocate and transferred them to an unknown location. They were going to submit nomination papers from PP 173. Advocate Salman Shahid has continuously fought the cases of Tehreek-e-Insaf workers since November.

RO denies Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Alia Hamza's nomination papers against Hamza Shehbaz.

Following Chairman Imran Khan's instructions, Alia Hamza submitted nomination papers against Hamza Shehbaz. Despite being illegally imprisoned for seven and a half months, Alia Hamza's cancer-stricken father made persistent visits to the RO office. Unfortunately, the police confiscated the nomination papers from the elderly father. Despite continuous requests to the Election Commission from Alia Hamza's daughter, there was no response. Only after intense efforts by lawyers were the nomination papers collected at the last moment.

Additional PTI workers were freed as the police couldn't produce evidence for the May 9 incidents.

Advocate Salman Shahid tweeted last night before his abduction. "Alhamdulillah, 17 of our workers, including Aizaz Rafiq, were released last night. Aizaz, detained for 110 days and arrested twice outside the jail, was among them. After his release yesterday, I ensured Aizaz safely reached his home in Gujarat. According to him, his morale is now stronger than ever".

Gas shortages were reported in numerous cities of Punjab.

Residents in several cities of Punjab are encountering challenges as gas remains unavailable during mealtimes. Sui Northern sources indicate that three areas are unable to maintain sufficient pressure during designated hours, resulting in citizens being deprived of gas even during breakfast and lunch.
