The "trendsetting" ministers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Atif Khan and Shahram Khan Tarakai of PTI are moving without any protocol. The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa spends your money in the right direction and values every citizen. Before PTI took office in 2013, a "VIP culture" took place, where ministers are valued as higher than the common man and are given extensive priveleges including expensive protocol, which resulted in financial misuse, especially in a developing country like Pakistan. Ever since PTI took office a succesful "No to VIP protocol" campaign has been launched to increase the public awarness that the state serves the people; not the other way around! These ministers are travelling without expensive security protocol used by other governments.
A 10-month old girl named Bisma in Karachi was tragically killed by Bilawal Zardari's security protocol in Sindh. After this, Imran Khan realised the impact of unecessary security protocols and announced the campaign. On December 28, 2015 the no to VVIP and VIP protocol measures began as the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa issued a notification to eliminate protocols for ministers and the Chief Minister. Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and Imran Khan ordered that a ban be placed on blocking traffic for politicians or ministers part of the government.
Due to these measures, PTI was succesfully able to have excellent financial managment and austerity for its tenure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 2013-18, which Imran Khan congratulated.
