PTI Press Release – Forced Disappearances of PTI Leaders and Workers
- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has demanded the caretaker prime minister and the chief election commissioner to recover their forcibly disappeared officials and workers.
- Separate copies of this letter were sent to caretaker Prime Minister and Chief Election Commissioner and the four caretaker chief ministers from Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan.
- Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders Farrukh Habib, Sadaqat Abbasi, Usman Dar, Awais Younis, Irfan Saleem, Abdul Karim Khan and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed have been missing for several days.
- Enforced disappearances of all these persons is a clear violation of the fundamental rights provided in the Constitution.
- Until these persons are released and those responsible for the enforced disappearances are not brought to justice, the transparency of the upcoming general elections will remain a question mark.
- It is hoped that the matter of forcibly disappeared persons will be taken seriously and orders will be issued to the concerned agencies for their immediate recovery.
