PTI Press Release – Election with 90 Days

• An important meeting of the core committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf took place today.
• A detailed discussion on important issues including the country's political situation, court proceedings on the cases against Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan and organizational strategy.
• PTI requests the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take special measures to protect the sanctity of the Constitution:
• In case of premature dissolution of the National Assembly, holding elections within ninety days is a mandatory and irrevocable provision of the Constitution.
• The entire state structure is bound to uphold the sanctity of the Constitution and implement its intent.
• The caretaker government and the Election Commission of Pakistan have only 36 days left to conduct the elections as per the mandate of the constitution.
• The caretaker government, the Election Commission and some parties in the PDM alliance are engaged in conspiracies to violate the sanctity of the constitution and usurp the right of the people to vote for an indefinite period.
• According to the Constitution, the Supreme Court is responsible for maintaining the sanctity and respect of the Constitution.
• The Chief Justice of Pakistan should intervene in view of the sensitivity of the situation and make the state and government bodies bound by the constitution to conduct the general elections in a transparent manner within a period of 90 days.
