PTI Press Release – Announcement by the Chief Justice of Pakistan

• Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf welcomes the announcement of the Chief Justice of Pakistan about not encouraging adjournment requests during the hearing of cases.
• The practice of reserving judgments for long periods after completion of hearings should also be discouraged.
• Unnecessary delay in cases leads to delay in the justice system and is in fact murder of justice.
• Justice delayed is tantamount to justice denied, the Chief Justice's move will help in achieving the goal of providing speedy justice.
• Measures should be taken to eradicate the culture of adjournment under the Chief Justice, especially in the subordinate courts.
• Prompt hearings and decisions of civil and criminal cases pending for decades should be ensured.
• The cases against the leaders and workers of Tehreek-e-Insaf, including Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan, should also be dealt with, on an urgent basis instead of delaying tactics.
