PTI Press Release – Abduction of Farrukh Habib

• Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has condemned in the strongest terms the forced disappearance of West Punjab President and former Minister of State Farrukh Habib.
• The intensification of state repression against Tehreek-e-Insaf before the elections is a shameful attempt to exclude Tehreek-e-Insaf from the election race and to create a political pretense in the name of elections.
• The same plan is behind the forced disappearance of the leaders and workers of Tehreek-e-Insaaf, which is echoed in the caretaker prime minister's statements.
• Every tactic of cruelty, oppression and brutality is being tried to remove Chairman Imran Khan and Tehreek-e-Insaf from the election race.
• After relief from the courts in false, fake and fabricated revenge cases, the state machinery has descended on a shameful series of enforced disappearances to render the court ineffective.
• After Zahoor Mashwani, Sadaqat Abbasi, Usman Dar, Awais Younis, Abdul Karim Khan, Hassan Niazi, Haider Majeed and Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Farrukh Habib and others were abducted in a state of lawlessness.
• We request the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take immediate notice to curb the shameful efforts of the state hijackers to promote lawlessness in the country.
• The Chief Justice should exercise his constitutional powers without delay to protect the constitution from the torture of extra-constitutional forces and the conspiracies of undemocratic elements.
