Punjab University actively discriminates ISF | Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf
<p>Insaf Student Federation (ISF) is looking forward to making good use of Chairman Khans popularity among the students after the lifting of student union ban by the new parliament.&#160; However, seeing the potential threat, the old guard is active in creating hurdles so that the largest university in the country remains in the fascist grip of those who claim monopoly over student politics.&#160;</p> <p>= = =</p> <p>...Meanwhile the PU administration on Thursday also barred the Insaaf Students Federation (ISF) from holding a press conference at the varsityís New Campus. The ISF was scheduled to hold a press conference at the PU Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) while invitations to media had also been dispatched. <br /> <br /> However the student wing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) was not allowed to hold the press conference on the pretext it had not sought any permission from the varsity administration.<br /> <br /> PU chapter ISF convener Kamran Akram Khan said the varsity administration requested the ISF not to hold press conference therefore the programme was cancelled. <br /> <br /> He however expressed his dissatisfaction over the move and said other student organisations like Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) had not been barred from holding its events in the university in the past. <br /> <br /> When contacted PU official spokesperson Dr Mujahid Ali Mansoori said no student organisation was allowed to organise any event on the campus without approval of the administration. ìAs per the varsity Syndicate decision any unauthorised activity by any student organisation is illegalî, he added.<br /> <br /> He said the police did not cooperate while the varsity did not have force to physically resist the student organisation owing to which it was decided that power supply to the venue should be suspended. <br /> <br /> Dr Mujahid Mansoori, who is also the Students Advisor, said the ISF was not allowed to hold the press conference because the PTI student-wing had not sought any permission.</p> <p>&#160;</p> <p>Source:&#160; <a href="http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=106054">The News</a></p>
