PTI UK wishes Pakistan day to all countrymen | Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf

PTI UK would like to wish you Pakistan Day and rekindle memories of the dream that became a reality. The Lahore session of the Muslim League on March 23, 1940, was historic and momentous where the Pakistan Resolution for a Muslim independent, autonomous and a sovereign state was passed. It was the biggest concourse of Muslims in their political history. More than 100,000 Muslim activists from every nook and corner of the subcontinent congregated on that day in the historic city of Lahore and proclaimed to the world their determination to make the Pakistan a Muslim sovereign state under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. After seven years of an epic political struggle the Muslims made their dream state of Pakistan a reality.

However after 70 years Pakistan is struggling economically & politically and with a war in our tribal areas. Quaid-e-Azam respected sovereignty and wanted all to live with honor and in peace. He said "To the freedom loving tribes on our borders and the States beyond our borders, we send our greetings and assure that Pakistan will respect their status and will extend to them its most friendly co-operation in preserving peace. We have no ambition beyond the desire to live honorably and let others live honorably".

Today corruption is found at all levels in the society and has spread like a disease. In Quaid-e-Azams presidential address to the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan on Aug 11, 1947 he said that "One of the biggest curses from which India is suffering - I do not say that other countries are free from it, but, I think our condition is much worse - is bribery and corruption. That really is a poison. We must put that down with an iron hand and I hope that you will take adequate measures as soon as it is possible for this Assembly to do so."

For all the sacrifices made by our founders and forefathers, it is our duty as Pakistanis to revive and rekindle the dignity and self respect of Pakistan. Pakistanis have the will and commitment to serve Pakistan and can lead it out of the current crises - we need to make Pakistan a country which decides its own destiny and with leaders who will be free of corruption and will deliver to peoples aspirations.

Our prayers are for an independent, sovereign and prosperous Pakistan.
