<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><u><strong>PTI Chicago Membership Drive a Huge Success<br /> </strong></u></span></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="font-size: small;">By Staff Reporter</span></span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Chicago; 26th Feb., 2012: The Chicago Chapter of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI Chicago) held its first membership drive event this Sunday at Holiday Inn Skokie. The event was a huge success with over 450 people in attendance. More importantly, PTI Chicago has shown the potential to be the biggest overseas PTI Chapter. <br /> The Pakistani Community of Chicago is full of patriotic and passionate people. The love for their homeland is something that is visible in countless Community events every weekend. On Sunday???s Membership Drive Brunch of PTI Chicago, the Community declared that they are ready to support Imran Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf publicly. The presence of renowned people who have never been part of any political campaign was a testimony that change has come. PTI Chicago gained dozens of paid members and created awareness about the voting rights of Pakistani Americans after attaining NICOP. <br /> The event started off with Tilawat-e-Quran by Zakaria Siyaji. The MC of the evening was Haris Siddiqui, a young student, who has worked tirelessly to make this event a reality. He introduced the first speaker, Sohail Nazir, PTI Coordinator in Chicago, who spoke about the history of PTI and the change that Imran Khan and PTI promises to bring. Next speaker was Rashid Latif, who has kept the Chicago Chapter for a number of years. Rashid was the first elected President of PTI Chicago in 2007. He currently serves as an official PTI Coordinator in Chicago. He spoke about PTI Chicago???s history and the importance of membership of Chicago Residents. Mehar Syed was the female speaker for the day, she emphasized the importance of Women???s role in the PTI movement and encouraged the women present in the crowd to take a more active role in the Chicago Chapter of PTI. 12 years old Ibrahim Khan represented the children of Chicago and he mesmerized the crowd by his forceful speech about Imran Khan and the movement of justice. <br /> Ikram Alam, an active volunteer of the PTI Chicago Chapter introduced a video that gave an overview of PTI and its Lahore Jalsa, which was a turning point in the political history of Pakistan. There was a surprise for the audience which was the video presence of Chairman Imran Khan himself. He addressed the audience by sending a video recorded few hours before. He asked everyone to join PTI to finish corruption, injustice and poverty from the country. He said the only way people can do it is by becoming paid member of PTI. Dr.Mujahid Ghazi served as the motivational speaker and continued the message of Chairman by reinforcing the need of overseas Pakistanis and the residents of Chicago to get proactive with PTI Chicago Chapter.<br /> The entertainment for the evening was a Comedy Skit written by Jibran Ilyas in which he also acted as a Political Talk Show host who had PML-N leader (acted by Khurram Habib) and PPP Foreign Minister (acted by Samra Cheema) and Awaam (acted by Zeeshan Farooq) as his guests. The supporting roles were performed by Syed Musharaf, Ayesha Afridi and Ali Ghumman. They exposed the true picture of political talk shows where anchors encourage the politicians to fight in order to garner ratings for their program. Other than the comedy skit, Livewires performed Live on a superhit patriotic song ???Nayi Umangein??. Their performance energized the crowd. <br /> The next speaker was Ikhrar Bukhari, who shared personal anecdotes about the time he spent with Imran Khan for Shaukat Khanum Hospital tasks. He emphasized that Imran khan is a rare personality and his honesty and leadership is what Pakistan needs the most at this time. The closing remarks were given by Mr. Akhtar Ali, a renowned businessman and an active volunteer of PTI Chicago. He gave special thanks to Mr. Mansoor Lakhani&#160; who donated the Banquet space and brunch for the event. He also thanked all the volunteers who worked tirelessly to put up the Membership drive event within two weeks. To conclude the event, Haris Siddiqui, the MC for the event, invited the volunteer team of PTI Chicago to commend them for all the hard work they had put in into making this a successful eventand to sing the National Anthem. It was a fitting end to the event with all volunteers and 500 people singing the National Anthem together. The feedback from all corners of the audience was very positive.
