30th January 2024 News Headlines

A summary of today's important and breaking news regarding PTI and the country that the mainstream media of Pakistan will never show you.

Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi were sentenced to ten years. Imran Khan responded  to the decision with a smile exposing the whole system.

Today, 178 days have passed since the former Prime Minister Imran Khan was illegally imprisoned. Imran Khan was sentenced today in a cipher case violating all boundaries of the constitution and law. Imran Khan said in his historical statement before the court today.

"Prior to my visit to Russia, I had a discussion with General Bajwa. He suggested our visit to Russia. Upon returning, Shah Mehmood Qureshi mentioned receiving a cipher from Asad Majeed in Washington a few days later. Surprisingly, the cipher was not intended for the Foreign Minister or the Prime Minister. Reading the cipher left me shocked and astonished. It was unprecedented for an ambassador to be threatened during a meeting with a US official. The message conveyed that if the Prime Minister wasn't removed, there would be consequences for the country. During the parade ground rally, I displayed the paper and only hinted at the risk without naming the country, choosing my words carefully. The paper displayed was a paraphrased copy of the cipher. Donald Lu sent the cipher to General Bajwa, as he had the authority to remove our government. Auctions were held at Sindh House, with each MNA fetching a price of 20 million. I was ousted, and the public response was historic."

After this statement, Special Court Judge Zulqarnain Abul Hasanat addressed Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi. "I sentence you to ten years", in response to which Imran Khan wore a contented smile, exposing the true nature of the decision and the system behind it.

Imran Khan's message to the nation to remain calm and vote on February 8.

My fellow Pakistanis! By now, you must have been informed by my legal team about the constitutional requirements and the trial of other baseless cases, including the cipher, being conducted in violation of legal regulations. Remember that the Cipher case has been nullified twice by the Islamabad High Court, ordering a retrial both times. This happened because, on both occasions, an attempt was made to undermine the Constitution and the law in handling the case. Furthermore, the Supreme Court granted me bail in this case because its entire foundation is constructed upon falsehoods, intimidation, conspiracy, and deceit.

Now, even the statements from key witnesses reveal nothing against me and Shah Mehmood in this case, causing anxiety among the orchestrators. They seek to conclude it without adhering to legal procedures. This is not a trial, it's a fixed match with a predetermined outcome, orchestrated by the characters and planners of the London Plan and their associates. Therefore, I am already aware of the verdict in this case. These individuals aim to incite you by imposing a severe punishment on me in this case. If you take to the streets in protest, they might attempt another false flag operation similar to what happened on the 9th of May, hoping to achieve what they couldn't last time.

Secondly, they aim to sow disappointment and anger among you, hoping that you'll stay home on February 8. My fellow Pakistanis, this is your battle, and it's a test you must pass by seeking retribution for every injustice through your vote on February 8 while maintaining peace. The innocent Pakistanis who have been unjustly detained for the past eight months can only find justice and freedom through your vote. I have faith that, just as you courageously broke the chains of fear and rallied yesterday, you will come out in millions on election day, using the power of your vote to defeat the architects of the London Plan. You will show them that we are not passive beings easily swayed. I am confident that February 8 will mark our day of victory. Insha'Allah.

In the cipher case hearing, lawyers were expelled from the court, and Shah Mehmood Qureshi was denied recording his statement.

Chairman Imran Khan's legal team, addressing the media regarding the cipher case hearing, expressed, "This is the worst trial in Pakistan. We refuse to recognize it as a fair trial. Lawyers were expelled from the courts for the first time, and guns were pointed at us. They are attempting to intimidate us. It is an act of cruelty, coercion, and abuse."

Barrister Salman Safdar, in his remarks, stated, "The judge exhibited a strong bias against Imran Khan. It seems the judge may have played cricket against Imran Khan with him holding the bat, and Imran Khan holding the ball. The bouncer might have hit the judge, and now he seems to be seeking revenge on Imran Khan."

The verdict was delivered before Shah Mehmood Qureshi's statement was recorded. Shah Mehmood Qureshi protested, saying, "My statement has not been recorded yet."

Petition filed in Islamabad High Court against termination of the right of defense in Tosha Khana NAB case.

Chairman Imran Khan challenged the decision to terminate the right of defense in the Tosha Khana case in the Islamabad High Court. Earlier, lawyer Intizar Hussain Panjutha tweeted, "The Islamabad High Court, under the Chief Justice, has been in session all morning for the Tosha khana case to halt proceedings, similar to the cipher trial. However, no hearing has occurred thus far."

Tehreek-e-Insaf rejected the decision to punish the chairman and vice chairman.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf vehemently rejects the unjust and oppressive verdicts imposed on Founder Chairman Imran Khan and Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the unfounded and fabricated cipher case. We declare our intent to appeal this decision to the High Court. The brutal execution of Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi reflects a pursuit of political vendetta. We strongly condemn the court proceedings that defy the Constitution and the cruel punishment inflicted on these innocent leaders. Despite the hardships, we will adhere to peace, following the guidance of our Founder, Chairman Imran Khan, and seek retribution for every injustice through the power of votes. On February 8, we urge the people to step out of their homes, ensuring justice for their beloved, fearless, and innocent leader, and put an end to the storms of injustice and lawlessness in the country through the strength of their votes.

Justice Amer Farooq reserved the decision on another petition of Imran Khan and forgot to pronounce it.

On January 17, a hearing was held in the Islamabad High Court on the request of Chairman Imran Khan on the petition against the Tosha Khana NAB case and the prison trial of the 190-million-pound case. On January 24, the decision was reserved. Today is January 30. The decision of the Tosha Khana NAB case is ending, but the decision on the petition against the jail trial is still reserved.

Justice Amer Farooq rejects Imran Khan’s requests once again.

In the 190-million-pound case and the Tosha Khana NAB case, the Islamabad High Court rejected the petitions against the jail trial of Chairman Imran Khan. Judge Amer Farooq reserved judgment on these pleas for a week. Today, he rejected the pleas near completion of the case.

Aliya Hamza was granted bail by the Lahore High Court but is still imprisoned.

Lahore High Court has approved the bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Aliya Hamza in case 96/23 after nine months, but she has not been released yet. Aliya Hamza is contesting against Hamza Shehbaz from the NA-118 constituency of Lahore.

Imran Khan's battle is a fight for justice. Go out and cast your vote on February 8.

Chairman Imran Khan's sister Aleema Khan said while talking to the media after the cipher verdict. "Do I appear anxious to you? They assume we'll just witness the show. We'll engage in a legal fight. Two hundred cases against Imran Khan can vanish in an instant, but Imran Khan insists this is a battle for justice. Why is he incarcerated? He will confront all charges. It's crucial now that people step out and vote on February 8 to free future generations from this system."

Further extension of Sanam Javed's remand.

The anti-terrorism court in Lahore extended the judicial remand of PTI leader Sanam Javed in the "vandalism" case till February 13. Cases have been registered against Sanam Javed in Shadman police station and Model Town police station on charges of arson on May 9. Sanam Javed was granted bail yesterday but was arrested in a new case.
