17th September 2023 News Headlines

A summary of today's important and breaking news regarding PTI and the country that the mainstream media of Pakistan will never show you.

  1. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been illegally detained for 43 days now. Imran Khan, not only as a former Prime Minister but also as an ordinary citizen, is being denied his rights and facilities. The courts have completely failed in enforcing their orders. According to senior journalist Haroon Rashid, last night in Attock Jail, Imran Khan's cell was wet due to a leak caused by rain. Water was dripping from the roof, and the mattress also got wet. Despite this injustice, Imran Khan remains determined and is steadfast for the sake of his nation.
  2. Chairman Imran Khan, is unlawfully detained in the Cypher case after being released in the Toshakhana case. Imran Khan's lawyers filed a petition in the special court providing evidence, but the judge rejected the request, showing bias. Against the decision of the special court judge, the lawyers have filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court. Chief Justice Aamir Farooq will hear the petition tomorrow. The lawyers say that if the case is heard on merit, bail will be granted.
  3. The [continuous] arrest and release of the central president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Pervaiz Elahi, has made the courts a laughing stock which has never happened before in the country's history. The courts have issued orders for release multiple times, but the police re-arrest him every time. Pervaiz Elahi's recent arrest was carried out by the Anti-Corruption Punjab, against which his lawyers filed a petition. Today, the duty judge, after hearing the lawyers' arguments, discharged Pervaiz Elahi from the cases and ordered his immediate release. However, he has been arrested again by the Rawalpindi police, which is a blatant disrespect of the judicial order.
  4. Sheikh Rashid has been arrested in Rawalpindi. Apparently, there wasn't a single case in which Sheikh Rashid's name appeared as an accused, and he was not on bail in any of the cases.
  5. While speaking in the “The Daily Talk Show”, guest Shahzad Akbar said, "PTI holds a principled stance on NAB laws, that no excesses should be committed against any party in the name of accountability. However, the amendments that the PDM made were only aimed at benefiting themselves." Shahzad Akbar further revealed important information:  Was General Bajwa ever against Nawaz Sharif? What demand was made to Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding accountability in the meeting? Who actually controlled NAB? Shahzad Akbar's made some crucial revelations. “The benefit of division and confusion in the judiciary is for those who control backdoor dealings and power plays. Because if the confusion among institutions and politicians ends, everyone will be limited to their roles and authorities."
  6. In the Toshakhana case against Chairman Imran Khan, the lawyer of the Election Commission, Amjad Parvez, turned out to be an employee of Nawaz Sharif. Amjad Parvez colluded with Judge Humayun Dilawar to conduct the illegal trial of the Toshakhana and then used delaying tactics in the bail case, on the grounds of illness. After successful completion of his mission, Amjad Parvez went to London and met Nawaz Sharif and got an appreciation for his services.
  7. For the first time in the country's history, a parliament existed where both the opposition leader and the Prime Minister belong to the same party. Raja Riaz, by joining PML-N, has substantiated the concerns of PTI, proving that the current interim setup is completely occupied by PDM’s umpires. Their job is to break PTI before the elections and establish a complete system of rigging.
  8. After May 9th, thousands of workers who were abducted unlawfully are still either imprisoned in jails or completely disappeared. Countless women have become victims of such oppression for the first time in the country's history. Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Mian Mahmood ur Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry, Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Zahoor Mashwani, anchor Imran Riaz, Hassaan Niazi, Usman Dar, Aliya Hamza, Khadija Shah, along with thousands of workers, for the sake of real freedom, under Imran Khan's leadership are enduring jail time.
  9. The unconstitutional interim Chief Minister of Punjab and the interim Prime Minister under the Constitution of Pakistan are only allowed to conduct the elections. However, both have completely rejected this constitutional duty. Instead, they are engaged in activities that they neither have a mandate nor the constitution permits.  On one hand, the interim Prime Minister is going to America, on the other, the interim Chief Minister Punjab has left for China. Both are openly defying the constitution. Yet, the Election Commission and the courts remain completely silent.
  10. In Rawalpindi and Islamabad, there has been an increase in the prices of food items. In the market, potatoes are being sold for 82 to 106 rupees per kilogram, onions for 85 to 110, tomatoes for 90 to 100, garlic for 430 to 580, and ginger is being sold at 1300 rupees per kilogram. Bananas are being sold for 160 rupees per dozen, peaches for 264 to 310 rupees, grapes for 357, and apples for 220 to 350 rupees per kilogram.
  11. The havoc caused by PDM’s mismanagement is not ending. Along with an increase in the prices of vegetables and fruits, the price of chicken has once again risen. Live chicken is being sold for 380 rupees per kilogram, while meat is being sold for 580 to 600 rupees per kilogram. The poor are being deprived of vegetables, pulses, and chicken.
