- In Islamabad High Court today, a hearing was held regarding the case of the illegal sentence in the Toshakhana (gift repository) case of Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Imran Khan's lawyer Sardar Latif Khosa provided arguments that Judge Humayun Dilawar's decision is completely illegal. Khosa said, “Let me tell you how Humayun Dilawar's hearing of the case was not even appropriate. Open your book and read sections 190(2) and 193. This sentence should be suspended today.' Chief Justice Aamer Farooq commented on his observation that mistakes were made in the sentence after which the Election Commission's lawyers provided reasons. Despite protests from Imran Khan's attorneys, the hearing has been postponed until tomorrow."
- The hearing of the Toshakhana Trial Case took place in the Supreme Court. Imran Khan's lawyer Sardar Latif Khosa presented arguments before the bench. The Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, said that the hearing is currently ongoing in the High Court, so wait for their decision and then we will proceed with the hearing. After the decision to adjourn the hearing until further notice in the High Court until tomorrow, the Supreme Court also postponed the hearing for an indefinite period.
- The Chief Justice remarked during the hearing, “We will also question the government about the conditions of Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's imprisonment.” The court has requested a report on Imran Khan's prison facilities.
- A hearing was held in the Supreme Court regarding an appeal against the initiation of the Quetta lawyer murder case proceedings against Chairman of PTI, Imran Khan. The Supreme Court has deferred the case without further action until after the summer recess. The Supreme Court ruled that Imran Khan will neither be arrested in this case nor will he appear before the JIT.
- Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja gives the US Ambassador significant importance as compared to his own country's President, as he had a meeting with the US Ambassador for an hour and a half, while he declined a meeting with President Arif Alvi. The President had written a letter yesterday to consult about the election date.
- Raoof Hassan, Information Secretary of Tehreek-e-Insaf, commented on the meeting between the US Ambassador and Chief Election Commissioner, saying, “The meeting between the US Ambassador and Chief Election Commissioner, who has consistently violated the constitution and the laws enacted under it, is being viewed with concern. There was hope that America would refrain from giving legal status to someone who is recognized as a violator of the constitution, who, while violating the orders of the Supreme Court, failed to hold elections within the stipulated time and is attempting once again to derail the national elections on flawed and unreasonable grounds.”
- President Women Wing Punjab and former MNA, Dr. Nausheen Hamid's newly constructed hospital and pharmacy were attacked by police and rangers last night, resulting in damage to the hospital premises. Many patients were receiving treatment at the hospital, and the pharmacy also suffered losses. Dr. Nausheen's crime is her support for Imran Khan.
- President of PTI South Punjab, Senator Aon Abbas Buppi, was abducted by the police from Lahore on August 23rd. Up until now, there is no information about Aon Abbas's whereabouts or any appearance in court. The Chairman of the Senate is still silent against this unjust act.
- In the Anti-Terrorism Court, there was a hearing of the case regarding the bail of women prisoners of Tehreek-e-Insaf, but due to the addition of further details in the charges, the hearing was postponed. The court directed the lawyers to include the new details in their applications. The case has been adjourned until Monday so that you can add the new details. These are just delaying tactics. The hearing is adjourned until August 28th.
- The PDM government has trapped the country in such a quagmire that escaping it seems impossible for the poor. An impoverished citizen, burdened by a monthly bill of only one fan and two energy savers, amounting to 12,000 rupees, reached a point of desperation and came to the railway tracks to commit suicide.
- Medicine produced by the company owned by the spouse of Punjab's Health Minister, Dr. Javed Akram, was found to be 'substandard and adulterated'. The medicine poses a dangerous threat to health. Authorities have ordered the retrieval of the medicine from the market.
- For the first time in the country's history, the interbank dollar exchange rate has reached up to 300 rupees. At the time of the no-confidence motion, this rate was 178 rupees.
- The price of the most significant political engineering in the country's history is being paid by the poor masses in the form of inflation and unemployment.
- The Drug Regulatory Authority has once again substantially increased the prices of medicines. The price of inhalers for asthma patients has been raised to 1,390 rupees, the cost of hepatitis injections is now 10,000, and the price of cancer injections has been increased to over 300,000 rupees.
