Omar Sarfraz Cheema is one of the founding members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He joined PTI in 1996 and contested the 1997, 2002 and 2004 elections as a PTI candidate. He worked in the party organization at tehsil, district, province and central level. He has been a member CEC since 1997. He holds significance in the party's leadership today. He notably served as the Governor of Punjab in 2022 after his appointment by Imran Khan, and has remained loyal to the PTI for a long time. He is currently serving as the vice president of PTI.
