Raoof Hasan is currently the head of PTI's policy think tank and was the influental Secretary Information for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf from 2023 to 2024. He also manages a think-tank (Regional Peace Institute) conducting track-II dialogues among countries of the region, and that he's a senior fellow at King’s College, London.After leaving Gordon College Rawalpindi to join the Pak Army, he encountered a setback when an accident forced him to depart from PMA after only 1 1/2 years. Returning to Gordon College, he completed his Masters in English Literature before embarking on a teaching career there, which was cut short when the college was nationalized. Following his passion for writing, he transitioned into the advertising industry as a copywriter and later founded his own advertising agency, which he managed for two decades. However, his life took a drastic turn when he was diagnosed with blood cancer in 2006. Spending 3 1/2 years undergoing treatment in a London hospital and subsequent years in recovery, he displayed remarkable resilience. Throughout these challenges, his commitment to the ideology of PTI remained steadfast, and he played a significant role in conducting the party's first intra-party elections, a groundbreaking development in Pakistan's political landscape. As Secretary Information of PTI, he spread awarness on the geopolitical and social issues of Pakistan, primarily the illegal crackdown on PTI and the decline of human rights. He was replaced as Secretary Information in September 2024 by Sheikh Waqas Akram, but remains notable as the Secretary Information for the party during times where PTI was facing unprecedented crackdown.
