North Waziristan is a beautiful mountainous region of northwest Pakistan, bordering with Afghanistan. Waziristan is situated in the south-west of Peshawar between the Kurram River to the north and the Gomal River to the south, forming part of Pakistan's FATA (old) with total area of 4,707 square kilometers. Miranshah is capital of North Waziristan. Like northern areas of Pakistan, the North Waziristan is a beautiful lush green valley. But its beauty remained unseen due to the existence of various militant groups in this region.
In 2014, as a result of operation Zarb-e-Azb, a military offensive conducted by the Pak-Army, nearly 930,000 people were internally displaced from North Waziristan.
Peace returned to NWA
after cleansing these areas from terrorists by the untiring efforts of Pakistan Armed forces
and rehabilitation of temporarily displaced persons after safe return to their homes was done smoothly.
Thousands of Army Jawans sacrificed their lives to protect our motherland from terrorists in this operation. Pakistan Army has done a lot for the people of NW e.g.
Miranshah Market Complex is recently constructed which includes 1344 shops, parks, car parking, solar lights, driveways and water supply network along with Ghulam Khan Trade Terminal as part of the Central Trade Corridor.
More projects are in pipeline for people of FATA.
KP government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had promoted tourism by taking initiatives in each district of KP to create interaction among the people from different areas and generate economic activities. The Deputy Commissioners of each district were directed to identify such places where rafting, desert safari, paragliding, off-roading, skiing, Hiking, and zip-lining could be managed and the same should be coordinated with KP tourism department.
Imran Khan (Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) had explored the northern areas and identified the potential tourist resorts that could become tourist hill station. Kumrat valley is one of those magical places of Upper Dir discovered by Imran Khan and he suggested to transform it as tourist point. He had also mentioned the promotion with importance of tourism in his Eleven 11point agenda at Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore in front of a massive crowd.
As the people of North Waziristan have suffered a lot due to terrorism and then their displacement as IDPs. Thousands of girls remained uneducated due to shut down of schools by the militant groups. Thousands of people lost their jobs and source of income due to war in this area. After restoration of peace, the basic facilities of livelihood had been provided to the families but still much more needs to be done. Tourist resorts can be constructed in this region as it will be the gateway for trade.
Tourism should be promoted in North Waziristan (war-affected area) in order to provide jobs to local community after the merger of FATA in KP. Education and health emergency should be imposed in FATA soon after merger in KP. Prosperity, peace and success are door-step away from the residents of FATA, Pakistan.
Long Live Pakistan.
