The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa signed an MoU with the Chinese Machinery Engineering Cooperation for the development of DIKhan Daraband-I Special Economic Zone in a simple ceremony here at Chief Minister House Peshawar.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak and other high ups of the provincial government attended. Under the MoU the China Machinery Engineering Cooperation would develop a special Economic Zone at D.I.Khan over an area of 1500 acres of land. The Chief Minister in his brief remarks said that the provincial government would install 225 Mega Watt of electricity in each Industrial Zone at Hattar, Motorway and D.I.Khan. The electricity would be produced out of the natural gas that the province had and would be extended to the industrial units in these industrial zones. He said because of his government efforts for the exploitation of its natural resources, the investors were landing in KP for industrialization and making investment in different sectors.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak deplored the previous rulers for drawing strength out of the status quo. They used the public sector institutions for their personal gains. It was even more deplorable to note that the bureaucracy did not transfer institutional memory and that was a culture that led all public sector institutions to be in total disarray, he added. He was addressing a delegation of Abbottabad who called on him at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar. The delegation was led by MNA Dr. Azhar Jadoon.
The Chief Minister said his government for the first time in the history worked on reforming the system and cleansing the public sector institutions from all sort of pettifogging adding that prosperity did not come with the construction of buildings but it came with the delivery, the system and the institutions make, he added.
Pervez Khattak said that the previous rulers did not take pain for the future of the people but concentrated on their own interest. Even they subordinated the national interest to their own interest. They did everything to destroy the future of the nation and they did everything for their own interest. The people miseries reached a point where they revolted against the system for a desire of change.
The Chief Minister said that the previous rulers did politics on Doctors, Teachers, Patwar an6d used Police for political motives. He said his government was committed to bring the rule of law, employ the people on merit and bring transparency in governance because these measures were necessary to stop the gradual societal erosion. His government changed the complexion of the game, revamped the system to deliver in consonance with the people aspiration.
The Chief Minister assured the resolution of their problems including the provision of staff for the BHU and added that their demand for the Tehsil would be processed and if feasible, necessary action would be taken.
