This OIC Notification is for attention of members of the Japan chapter.

The following people have been nominated as Members of the Election Commission to conduct and oversee Fair, Free and Transparent elections in Japan.


1. Asim Khan (Member)
2. Yasir Naveed (Member)
3. Arslan Shehzad (Member)

Term of Elected Body

The term of the elected body will commence from Feburary 2017 and will be for two years. Please note this extension of two years is only for this time since Pakistan's general elections are scheduled for 2018. In case general elections are held earlier the term may be reduced to one year as in the past.

The annual fee for membership for the first year will be 2,500 Yen. The annual fee for the second year will also be 2,500 Yen.

Role of Election Commission

PTI Japan Election Commission shall ensure free and fair intra-party elections are held and an equal playing field is provided to all eligible contestants.

Date for the election will be communicated by the OIC after recommendation from the Members.

Responsibilities of Members of Election Commission

All members of election commission shall be equally responsible to:

 Ensure paid-membership process defined by Office of International Chapters (OIC) is adhered to during membership campaign.

 Verify voting list by scrutinising through sample testing or any other means deemed necessary.

 Publish verified membership lists as per defined guidelines.

 Scrutinise contestants’ nomination papers and ensure they fulfil eligibility criteria.

 Handle any complaints during membership, nominations process, campaign time, postelection and to make equitable decisions.

 Oversee the SMS voting process on elections day and, do spot checks if necessary on actual votes.

 Announce results

 Make sure all data handled by them during elections is treated with strict confidentiality and not shared with any irrelevant person or body within or outside the party.

 Provide “Elected Bodies Roles and Responsibilities” to contesting candidates well before the election results

 All notifications must go through OIC for publication on during the election process and all its stages by the Election Commission. That means any clarity, visibility or issues must go to the Election Commission. No such communication should take place directly to OIC and PTI Australia Finance Board. It will be the responsibility of EC to request assistance from OIC or PTI International Finance Board.

 In case of disagreement within EC, majority vote will be considered as final decision.
