It has been brought to our attention as overseas chapters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf that a man named Mirza Ramzan was arrested while attempting to throw a shoe at Chairman Imran Khan on 11 March 2018 in Faisalabad. Mirza revealed in initial investigation that he was sent by Sheharyar, the son-in-law of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah.

In another regrettable incident, a man succeeded in throwing a shoe towards our Chairman during membership campaign in Gujarat on 13 March. The shoe was mistargeted and sadly hit our senior leader Mr. Abdul Aleem Khan who, in all his might, stood firm with the Chairman and showed miscreants that we shall never let any harm reach our Chairman – be it a shoe or a bullet.

Overseas chapters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf unanimously condemn these cowardly attempts of PML-N who are trying to deflect the public anger against their mischievous actions regarding Khatm-e-Nabuwwat and trying their best to cause unrest in PTI’s public meetings.

Overseas Pakistanis stand firm with PTI and warn miscreants that they must stop their cowardly attempts immediately, otherwise all legal channels will be pursued to ensure justice is done.

Lastly, we extend our utmost respect and gratitude to Mr. Abdul Aleem Khan, and would like to reiterate that your respect in our eyes has only increased after this incident. We all pray for your health and long life so you can continue to shade us with your selfless leadership.
