Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Hong Kong organized a peaceful protest in Hong Kong on 24 July 2016 against India’s illegal occupation of Jammu & Kashmir and the brutal violence carried out by the Indian government on Kashmiris in the past few weeks.
It is very shameful that the world’s largest democracy is behaving in a dictatorial manner and suppressing the legitimate demand of the people of Jammu & Kashmir for independence. We demand India to immediately stop using rubber bullets on protesters, stop illegally arresting the protesters, let the people of Jammu & Kashmir express their views freely, release the illegally detained leaders and advocates of Kashmir’s independence, arrest the officers involved in war crimes against Kashmiris and ensure proper medical care of those injured during the protests.
We also demand from India to respect the people of Kashmir and solve this serious matter according to the will of Kashmiris and according to the resolutions of United Nations.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and its elected body in Hong Kong stand united with the people of Jammu & Kashmir. We will continue to support the Kashmir cause until India withdraws from its illegal occupation.
