 It is a widely held belief that if free and fair elections were held in Pakistan today, there is a great chance that PTI would emerge as a clear winner. Different independent polls put the popularity of Imran Khan, the leader of PTI, well above leadership of PPP and PML(N). Fair elections could put PTI in solid position to form next government. Interests of common people have been always been neglected by previous governments. People are sick and tired of same old faces and their unfair policies. They are looking towards PTI as alternate leadership. As the time for elections nears, voters are beginning to question what solutions PTI offers. They want to know what PTI stands for and how PTI policies will benefit their lives and their families. Most importantly they want to know about the social and economic policies of PTI.  

 The legendary cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan is the talk of the

town wherever you go in Pakistan. According to a recently released PEW

survey, IK stands at 68% popularity in Pakistan and prima facie is the

most popular leader in Pakistan.

 Our beloved Pakistan, a fortunate country having by far the youngest population, which is one of the biggest, sturdiest and prevalent assets that any country could ever have. But still the country is disintegrating with a much faster pace than ever before and is almost on the verge of collapse which is the most unfortunate part.

 Khan has no schism. What you see is what you get. Let me sound the bugle that the tides have turned and for those who have seen or read about the Bhutto ‘sailab’, this is an emerging ‘tsunami’, as the people have found a leader they can trust and who will deliver.

 It is two years since Christian localities in Faisalabad were ransacked and burnt by a mob dispensing instant justice. Reportedly, on 18th July 2009, intelligence agencies had issued a warning to the Government of Punjab of likely incidents of terrorism in which some enclaves of Non Muslims Pakistanis could be targeted. Rather than pay heed, the provincial government deemed it fit to act as it did. After much carnage, it took the Government of Punjab three days to move belatedly.

 Even his personal foibles have not deterred his resolve.  He knows he is vulnerable on his off stump but has taken his guard determinedly against some very hostile bowling. Like ever, his team is a blend of experience, youth and vigour. He knows that he is the indomitable KAPTAAN with traits to steer the country out of troubled waters. 

Is Imran Khan the Godot we have been waiting for?

Karachi was once called “The city of lights”. No doubt the city is still lighten up, but with fire, explosives and spark of guns & pistols.

The international and national media are speculating events that would lead to the end-game in Afghanistan. Commentators world over are  drawing different scenarios on how USA would hedge its interests in the region against Al Qaeda, its affiliates and nuclear proliferation (declared) and its political economy (China, Central Asia and Pakistan, undeclared). This debate was energised by the US operations that killed Osama Bin Laden followed by the decision by President Obama to reverse the ORBAT of 33,000 US surge troops Embedded within these debates are deliberate leaks to coerce Pakistan into pliability.

here has been, for a number of years, a sustained criticism of Imran Khan for being “too close” to the religious parties specially the Jamaat e Islami. Most of these critics come from an urban secular background who have long suffered from a chronic frustration about national affairs.

 My beloved city of Karachi!  The pearl of pearls of the Arabian Sea; the bride of the cities;  the city of lights; the city of Quaid; the sprawling metropolis; the brain and the spine of Pakistan; the inaugural seat of administration post independence; the city which funneled blood in the raw veins of the then newly formed country, to make it what it is today. Home to the largest number of Pakistanis cutting across ethnic, regional, provincial, sectarian, religious divides-the lasting and living symbol of national unity and pluralism; the mini Pakistan.  History has come full circle, and fate beckons you to play the same role, as you had so valiantly played, 64 years ago. Back then, Pakistan was reeling from a cataclysmic birth, you were called upon to rear and wean it into robustness; you did that so gloriously. 64 tortuous and stormy years later, you are once again being called upon to help save Pakistan from a cataclysmic downfall.

Time has come for Pakistanis to re-establish their honourable place on earth. They should now rescue their legal and rightful liberation from invaders, liberation from usurpers, mutilators, plunderers, perpetrators; and liberation once for all. Liberation, the destination of validation is impossible if people do not back those leading the liberation movement.

 Today the Pakistani state — that is its government and security structures - stands exposed as never before in front of its own people as well as the world. Never before, since 1971, has the Pakistani nation felt so defenceless and so full of anger and shame.

 For Pakistanis, this is not time to feel embarrassed and to hang heads in shame over the simplicity and quickness of the operation that killed Osama Bin Laden. It is rather, a time for a long overdue bugle cry that Pakistan is at War. 1/5 was not Pakistan’s Day inasmuch as 9/11 exposed the vulnerabilities in USA’s homeland security.

 Mr Taqi, you have continued with the recent tradition of putting down Imran Khan and PTI based on convoluted opinion, illogical assumption and good old fashioned lies.

 It appears that after over a decade of writing on the Afghan Conflict, I have run out of ideas. During the course of my active involvement and as an analyst, much that was predicted has come to pass; and much that could have been accomplished in high politics has been denied or deliberately squandered. Lamentably, a nation with abundance in talent, resources and mismanagement still waits for a Godot to steer the vessel home. During the past ten years the clock has turned full circle and the country is back to square one. Eight years to say the least are a decade of failing statecraft. Pakistan is still being asked the same questions that it was, as a prelude to the unstinted support. The fissures between Pakistan and its overbearing ally USA are widening as the situation gets from bad to worse.

I was a bit disappointed that I can't join my friends on ground who were going for 2-days Dharna(sit-in) against Drone Attacks in Hayatabad, Peshawar on the call of Chairman Imran Khan to block the NATO Supplies. Workers from all over Pakistan were preparing for the Dharna. Therefore, I decided to do Dharna at my computer and I stopped all my other activities in this regard. I knew that I can still contribute my part by staying here in Karachi and to work for the Web-management and Social Media Team of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). It is acclaimed by all the serious observers that PTI has the most updated Website/Social Media among other parties in Pakistan. It is really great because all other parties have paid employees for this job; whereas in PTI we have all volunteers, no one is paid to maintain our Social Media. And the major reason is we have devoted volunteers who are working for the better Pakistan through the platform of PTI.

The step now will decide the fate of this nation to be blossom like roses  in spring

When it comes to the political situation in Pakistan, I find it appalling that we, the educated, have become cynical of Pakistan to a full degree.  Just like here in America how some people get brainwashed by the media outlets of CNN, Fox News, etc.  The Pakistani Americans have become brainwashed in regards to the circumstances in Pakistan in regards to the Pakistani Media, aided by Western Media.  We let the "anchors" decide our future.  History repeats itself because we let history repeat itself, we choose not to have the self-esteem to write our own.

The worthy writer launches his tirade against Imran Khan by castigating him as a “non starter”
in the political arena and laments his inability to “flash like a glowing star on the political
horizon of Pakistan” like Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. He finishes off his opening salvo by depicting Imran
Khan as a tantrum laden, fretful child.

It may not be entirely wrong to propound the theory that the average Pakistani may generally be rather unconcerned and indifferent to whether our government represents a “democracy” or otherwise, provided his life and livelihood are preserved and protected. While our champions of democracy incessantly drum upon having restored the “people’s government to the people”, a large cross-section of their electorate remains busy reminiscing fondly about the days spent under a so-called dictatorial regime. After all, that time period happened to be the one witnessing lesser inflation and greater GDP growth rate; lesser devaluation and greater industrial growth; lesser loadshedding and greater access to employment; lesser oil prices and greater returns on the stock bourse; lesser import bills and greater expatriate remittances; and lesser unruliness.

I had the opportunity today to briefly participate in a peaceful protest held by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (Movement for Justice) in the city of Islamabad. I came to know about the event quite late and could not manage to gather friends and increase participation in the event, which is very important in my opinion (applying the old rationale ‘if everyone thinks their absence will decrease the protestants' count by only one then soon there will be no one left’). During my short stay there I made quite a few observations that I consider are worth sharing.

Imran Khan may be laughed at by the establishment. Like anybody, he has his limitations. But he is admired and respected by vast numbers who are victims of viciously indifferent governance. He is confident he can mobilise the trust of the people – as he has in the aftermath of the floods – and provide them the kind of hope they yearn for. He appears to be prepared to dedicate the rest of his life to enabling the people of Pakistan escape their current plight to which our current “leaders” seem happy to condemn them forever.

The Lion of Lahore was in roaring form. If the word charismatic did not already exist they would have to invent it for Imran Khan. As he strides athletically into a room there's a ripple of excitement from men and women alike.

Change is the order of the day- it is tangible to the youth of Pakistan.the CriCketer turned PolitiCian, imrankhan is PoPular among the massesfor his revolutionary mindset, Contagious PhilanthroPiC streak and unParalleled sense of Patriotism. his Charisma makes him an iCon that Calls for liberty, equality and fraternity for all.

Before I elaborate on the existing education system, it is important to highlight the system we inherited from the British Raj in 1947. A classic example is NJV High School on Bunder Road, presently Mohammad Ali Jinnah Road. I joined the school in 1949, at that time this Sindh Government School was considered the elitist school where the cream of the crop of Sindh used to send their children for education from class 5 to 11.

I just wanted to bring into everyone's attention the address by the founder of this nation. I don't need to say anything, just read it and you will realize that it is even more relevent today. Unfortunately, the government and we as the citizens of Pakistan did not address any of the the problems highlighted by the father of this nation.

Mr. Ansar Abbasi in an investigative news repored how "the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) Islamabad has illegally awarded extra marks and upgraded the examination results of the daughter of the country’s top judge."

I was talking with my brother in law the other day and we are discussing Pakistani politics. He is a software engineer and works at a software application firm.

He asked me the  if he wants to join politics, how will he manage it? "How will I support my family if I am a fulltime politician but not an elected member? How will I fund myself to gain political strength?How will I convince my parents, my family? How will I reach people? Basically, tell me how do I become a politician?"
